When people from Wirral tell people where they live, do they say they live," in Wirral" or, "On the wirral" or just Cheshire. I cant me head around this, "on" part. Does anyone else live on the Liverpool like me?

Because its short for " on the wirral peninsula" you dont live "on the Liverpool city" do you?
