I cannot believe my luck today

Leeds area bikey coppers

I was squirting down the M1 at a fairly clear point, weather was clear, traffic was light..

I was on the naughty side of 110 - and as you do, I checked the mirror and lo and behold, 20yds behind there was a Bikey Bobbie. I moved into the middle lane and reduced my speed to 80 odd expecting the flashy light to come on, where he accellerated up beside me, gave me a scowl, wagged his finger & motioned with his hand for me to slow it down a bit (patting head motion)

I got a red face, and he sped on his merry way. I can't believe it - a fair cop! as I was obviously not driving dangerously and was aware enough to see him in the mirror & move in then slow down.

Needless to say I drove a bit more sedately all the way down to Swindon

Point being Sgt if he was on a sports bike, He'd av been pulled without a doubt. Especially if the copper was in a car & not on a bike. Been there & worn that T-shirt out :slap:

You are one lucky boy and should get a lottery ticket & half a dozen scratch cards right now Goit ;)

Many many moons ago I used to have Paggett RD400LC. It had been a proper Paggett prepared prodution racing bike and when the 400cc category was scatched in favor of 350cc the my old 400cc was up against 500 Gamas and TZ's. So I converted it for the road as a Kenny Roberts (senior) replica (except it was a 400 twin rather than a 500 square 4), but it had spondon monoshock frame 5 gallon tank fully fared with 2 real and 2 dumy Stan Stevens expany's coming out of the seat faring. (would wee all over a Z900 up to about 130mph)

I used to get stopped nearly every day. Jam butty's trying to do me and generally giving me a hard time and bike cops wanting to know what it was, have a go and generally talk bike and fast car. I just think that what ever it is in a persons psyche that make em enjoy bikes keeps them grounded and real and generally not a nob as many of our officers seam to be.

I'd rather get done by a person than a camera any day of the week.

And Goit has shown one reason why - he drove more carefully for the rest of his journey.

dunno about that, my missus finished her training today, she has turned into a vicous evil wench after 14 weeks at police academy.... :D

i had a close shave with one a few weeks ago - launched off the lights late one evening, only got up to 35 before i eased off. as i was pulling up to the next set of lights a copper slowed down alongside me, looked at me, shook his head slowly, then drove on. respect to him tho - he could have pulled me over and gone through the routine but instead he just gave me an 'informal' warning.
