For starters, me and I know that Robb (T3rbo) is interested, so that's 2.

Who else?? biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

The list so far ....

Definites :

Okay - spoke to Johnny last night and his price for all 3 units including VAT is just £599.

That said, I'd like to put the order in by next Monday at the latest (29th October) so this gives the Maybe-Possibly-Depending on Price people some time to check finances etc.

If you're interested, can you post it here so that we can get final figures off to Top Man Johnny next Monday.

CheerZ! biggrin.gif

Ajay,

You say 'all 3 units' do you mean that the deal includes the 6-setting adjustable set up and Launch control?

If you could let me know

sounds okay to me...

don't think I can have launch control with an auto though!

Oh well, still money saved biggrin.gif

turboman

Launch control ??????

Thought so smile.gif

Now I have got launch control on mine and it is an auto but I've never tried it (!). However, I reckon of you set the rev limit to just below the stall speed (if that's the right term) for the torque converter, which is something like 3250rpm(?), then it should work OK.

Hmmm the advantages of a manual heh? wink.gif

i guess ill have to go for this deal then.

some interesting reading about TC and using nitrous. taken from the main dealer int america.

I stated this a few months ago, but want to reiterate it in case anyone missed it. Do NOT use a WET NOS kit with the traction control system. Doing so may theoretically lead to detonation and engine damage (no actual cases have been noted thus far, but you probably don't want to be the first). The traction control unit controls exactly how much fuel is used by briefly turning each injector on or off (to prevent individual cylinders from firing). If you use a wet NOS kit, then supplemental fuel is added into the cylinder by the NOS fuel solenoid, thus essentially bypassing the injectors AND the traction control system. So, the Racelogic unit can no longer control how much fuel is getting into the cylinder.

BUT, a DRY kit, such as the Stillen/Jim Wolf setup should be fine (that's what I've been using and there have been no problems at all). It's easy to understand after noting that the dry kit supplements fuel through the injectors themselves, which are under the control of the Racelogic unit.

As far as JWT NOS systems go, you don't even need it if you've got the launch control. At the track, the only time my JWT NOS would activate was at the launch... shifting through the gears keeps the boost up higher than whatever the limit is for the JWT NOS, so it never turned on in any gear but first for me. So, since I launch with the launch control, I actually never use my JWT NOS at the track anymore.

Just throwing this one back to the top biggrin.gif

Ahhhh, but there are 3 diffent types of TC.

1. Control the Fuel intake. When a skid is detected the TC actually lessens (is that a word) the amount of fuel entering the engine, by controling the injectors. Not many people like the TC interfering with the engine management.

2. Miss Fire. This is obvioulsy us where on detecting a skid will miss fire a cylinder or two to lower the power. Not good for Cats becuase it will burn on them, and is not very nice for you engine. Most F1 cars use this.

3. Brakes TC. This is where the TC slightly applys the brake on the skidding wheels to slow them down when a skid is detected. This is the kindest to the engine, and NOS wont efect it. Just hope that your brakes are upto slowing down the extra force.

Racing Logic use the later of the three. But I think that you can get the other ones off them.

Any way I am presuiming the is it the Brake one we are getting becuase you attatch it to your ABS.....

Stuart

Actually I believe the RL system works by inducing a rotating missfire (rotating through the cylinders)

The interface to the ABS is to read which wheels are spinning relative to the others AFAIK.

Az

Actually it rotates a fuel cut around the cylinders and only uses the ABS sensors as wheel speed sensors.

Which means it isint the other two , which means my post about TC and gas is then right biggrin.gif

Mmmmmmm, getting very technical!

But more to the point ARE WE ANY CLOSER TO BUYING THE DAM THING!!!!

smile.gif Sorry been waiting three weeks for this to happen smile.gif

turboman

and it gets this thread back to the top!! biggrin.gif

well i dont hitnk it will be much longer now... how many of the original TC guys have fitted there units?

Is it hard to fit? Will there be diagrams to aid us?

Stuart.

Very tired

if your handy with a soldering iron, thenit is dead easy i supervised craigs fitting biggrin.gif

But had to go when the hard part came along wink.gif

there is a full fitting diagram on the tt.net technical bit...

OK, are you sitting comfortably? Then we shall begin..... biggrin.gif

The Racelogic TC works by looking at the wheel speeds detected by the abs sensors (these produce a pulse each time the wheel goes round). If it detects the rear wheel (in the Zeds case) turning faster than the front it recognises this as wheelspin and cuts injectors in a rotational fasion until the speeds are back the same. This is as simple as it gets smile.gif

As far as the method of cutting the power is concerned, as in miss-firing a cylinder, this will not harm the cats as it is cutting the fuel not the spark - it's unburnt fuel getting to the cats that causes them to overheat. If it cut the spark then this would damage a catalytic convertor because fuel would still be supplied to the cylinder but would not get ignited, hence unburnt fuel getting through...

I got the RL TC on the first group buy and leave it on all the time. I am WELL impressed with it. Wet roundabouts suddenly become a lot more fun too wink.gif

Fitting wise this is fairly simple - only thing I would recommend would be to remove the passenger seat so that cables can be routed properly and its easier to get in to the loom to do the crimping....

Basic parts to remove are - rear right trim, bottom of rear seat and ecu cover panel. The seat is optional but WILL save you time wink.gif

Any questions feel free blah blah blah....

CheerZ,

Andy

just one quick question - where do you mount the control on dash...

pic would be nice!

cheers robb

I managed to squeeze my control into the ashtray, tight fit, but kinda neat and stealth though.
