I want to change my wheels tonight.

I'll (obviously) have to jack up the car.

Will it do any harm to do it with the standard jack under the sill?

Cheers!

Hmmmm ... I kind of asked this question in July 2004 but would appreciate any more information.

Cheers!

There's a notch in the sill that fits into the jack IIRC so you lift the car at the right point.

Further to that, how can I get the car up on to axle stands ? I bought a trolley jack but it won't fit under the front and I'm not sure where to lift it at the back of the car......

Any ideas ?

Cheers

Mark

i use the standard jack to get it to a hight so my trolley jack fits under the main cross member

Best to use a trolley jack if poss; but there is a notch on each corner for the standard jack, but check that your sills are ok before you do it! I've had mine up using the sills before but I did cringe a bit.

For a trolley jack, at the rear there are some chassis mounting points that seem sturdy enough, think it was where the rear subframe is mounted.

At the front there's similar points, but not quite as obvious, and you do need a fairly slimline jack...

Don't put a trolley jack under the front sills at the jacking point - this is for the OEM jack only. Tyre fitting monkeys often do this to a ZX and the wings "pop out"

You have been warned :nono:

Richard ;)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
