More than lightly a daft question?

Do the jap imports have tinted head lights?

The reason I ask is cos' my zx has a driver side head light that looks like its slightly brown tinted and the passanger side head light is realy clear!

I think at some point the passanger front light has been changed!

OR

is it just age and dirt in/on the lense inside? It would be nice to have a matching set of lights so do I go for a Jap passanger side HD-light or a UK driver side HD-light?

Sorry for all the daft questions

Cheers!

One of my headlights is far clearer than the other. Opening the bonnet and looking at the top of the lights reveals that they both look a bit different (id numbers in different places etc). I'm going to try and pull apart the dull one and get it to shine like the other one. The little screws holding the bit of black plastic at the top look a bit difficult to access though.

The brown markings are a combination of dirt and heat,if like I have, you split the lights open, the film of crap on the inside of the glass is brown if wiped off with kitchen towel. No doubt this is an additional problem to the poor headlights, also and this is easy to check, the dip beam projector beam glass is always filthy,if you check they kinda look milky if you peer in to them in the daytime, once clean what you should see is a magnified view of the bulb!

Cheers guys I did think it was just crap on the inside - but was told by some muppet that the imports had tinted lenses!!!

and yes it does look a night mare to get out I was gona swab the inside with a long bud and some IMS first before ripping it out but then realised that the bulb apature was f??kin' tiny!

So now I know its just crud I'll rip it of and split it!

Cheers Chaps!!

Once again!

Imports have a brown tint to the windows, UK spec have a grey tint (and I expect US have a gray tint !! wink.gif)

Thought UK Spec had a blue tint to the windows?

Mine does, anyway... biggrin.gif

Sorry, Andy

"hahahahahahahahahahahahaha - most amusing"

Better? biggrin.gif

Quite remarkably, the dirt inside each of my headlamp blocks has managed to form twin smiley faces... one on each side eek.gif Either that, or its some crazy import styling option!

You might think I'm joking, but I'll post pics if you like! smile.gif
