Bought myself a MIG welder to fix the holes in my four year old HKS Super Dragger. And I've got quite a few. The exhaust may be stainless but the welding on it certainly isn't! Take a look at the attached photo which shows where the welds attaching one of the brackets rusted through.

 

Does anyone know where I can buy stainless steel sheet from? I'm either searching very badly for it or it's not to be found on UK Internet sites easily. Or if I were to buy this locally, what should I be looking for? I'm totally new to all this and haven't a clue where to look or what to ask for.

For stainless sheet etc, you'd probably be best finding a local metal merchants in your Yellow pages - ask if they have any offcuts going cheap..

 

You'd probably be best off cutting that section out getting a section of stainless exhaust pipe welded in instead - you can get that from places like Demon Tweeks quite easily, and it'd be easier than trying to roll a sheet to the right curve and weld it over/in I reckon..

Try Metal supermarkets . Good supplier for the DIY'er.

I can roll you a new sleave if you want mate, all from stainless cut to size can also get hold of stainless tube! that pipe from the picture looks mild steel have you put a magnet on it?

You can buy stainless mig wire from halfords, if you want to weld stainless to mild steel your better using the stainless wire although mild steel wire would work!

They do have a specific wire for welding the two, but seeing as its only an exhaust it wont matter
