I'm replacing my old wiper blades with new ones (Bosch).

One of the new ones has an extra plastic bit, like an aerodynamic flap.

Any idea which wiper it should be on (driver or passenger) and which way it should point (up windscreen or down towards bonnet) ?

Or should I just lever it off with a screwdriver?

Cheers

Drivers side mate!!

Depending on what make of wiper it is, the 'flange' is usually on the bottom towards the bonnet! :D

BTW, thats my word of the day now.........FLANGE!! :D

Can't beat a good bit o' flange ;) Flange-fantastic..

The aerodynamic bit should be (as Chunk says) pointing so that it's pushing the blade down onto the screen - if you get it wrong all that'll happen is your wipers won't work above about 60mph..

Doesn't your driver's side wiper arm have a built-in flange??

Or is that just UK cars

All this talk of "flaps" and "flange"........must be time for bed, methinks :D :D

Richard :D

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

It seems fine on the drivers side, pointing down towards the bonnet.

It makes a massive difference having new wipers.... I think the old ones were the original factory ones!
