the black strips which run from along the sides of the windscreen up onto the targa's are peeling off showing stainless steel underneath...any ideas on difficulty in getting them re-done... seem it could cost a bit for something so small or has anyone just peeled the rest of the black off leaving shiny strips...if so does it look worse better?

cheers

Now this is going to sound like a bodge but try it first. I used black insulation/electrical tape. Make sure you get the right width of course and take your time putting it on straight etc. Honestly - it looks as good as new! If you do have patches off the s/steel showing through it would be a good idea to take it all of otherwise you will see the uneveness through the tape. Try it anyway, if you don't like it, then paint 'em!

See pics left and right.

whoever had my motor before be has stripped it down to the metal and it looks ok to me

cant you buy them from the z centre

steve

had all of mine done cost a small fortune, I'd spray them

Nothing wrong with that James, as long as you like it ;) lol

Nah! Only joking mate............... One the black strip along the bottom edge of the TT spoiler is only tape! And the cost of replacement windscreen edging strips is quite a lot, well over £60 for both sides, let alone the other ones across the roof! (£117.50 + delivery from ZCentre, for the lot)

I've had mine painted in Metalflake, they look cool as FVck when the sun shines on them....

:D cheers Dave

James, when you cover them with the tape, do they look as good as these?
