I've found a Z to look at locally, chap tells me it's an import, 90' H TT with half/half leather. No mods etc. He gave me the reg to do a few checks on and the very first one came up with this

Now the colour is the only thing right! Is this because the reg has been re-assigned to this import and I should not worry about it or should I run like fook away from this?

Sounds a bit dodge! Might be a simple explanation but I would be very careful. Defiantely proceed with caution, as they say. Is it from a dealer? (and half/half leather?)

 

On another note, just looking at your location. Have you heard of Long Copse Lane?

No it's a private sale, guy seems genuine enough. Long Copse Lane? can't say I've heard of it why?

A lot of imports are wrongly registered so dont immediately take it to mean bad things. Mine is down as "Two axle rigid-body coupe" :confused: I guess its whatever the work experience boy at the DVLA/docks scribbled down when he couldn't work out what it was :rolleyes:

Ok, when you say "check", what check have you done? HPI being the best of course.

Lets give you worst possible scenario - the cars a ringer and the thief is such a thick sh1t that he's rung it with a Mistubishi 3000, thinking it was the same car. Could be, you never know. You must be careful.

 

I used to know someone who lived on that road a few years back and I knew it was in Emsworth...........ok, ok, yes it was a girl.

Long Copse Lane.. know where you mean now, it's the back road to Westbourne, v posh!

Going to see the car on Sat with a mate who claims to know what he's looking for ( did 6 months for ringing about 10 years ago!! lol)

 

I'll let you know. BTW first check is RAC reg checker then I have a mate whos an insurance broker, gave him the reg and he came back with the same info as RAC!

at least you got coupe on your's. mine say's rigded body lift truck.

is your reg plate a private plate i did an hpi check when i bought my zx import back in feb this year and it came back as a bmw 3 series i phoned the D.V.L.A to double check .the private plate was fitted to the bmw but then transferred to my zx which did not show up on the hpi check but dvla confirmed the transfer phone D.V.L.A on 0870 2400009 (reg information)

There are plenty of decent ZXs for sale here at the moment. I'd walk away and look elsewhere
