Starting to think the same for the money being plowed into the 300 engine the bhp results to me aint that impressive either :(

 

Is there any one on this site who has performed a v8 transplant on a 300?

not only more capacity, but also quite a bit lighter as the VG30DE (look at the front wheels)

...so maybe that is why he had to lower it 11cm :D

When you think about it, it's only an extra 2 cylinders. The V8 is probably only 2 valves per cylinder & therefore the heads will be smaller + there's no turbos either. It's probably actually smaller than the zed engine+ancilliaries.

A friend of mine who used to work for Froggetts Range Rovers. They do full last nut and bolt Rebuilds from chasis up. They install various Derv lumps and also the Ford 5.0 ltr petrol. They say thay because the torque is so great that they have to lift the gearing. Thus it does about 24mpg which is brill for Rangy. They also say it is the smallest lightest V8 around. + There are off the shelve Super charger kits. Turbo kits and lets face it this lump has been run in the GT40 Concept car at over 1000bhp and a 900bhp vertion is offered in the new MG SVR

 

Looks like a Dam good Idea. Why didn't I think of it before I spent all my money on a new lump and big turbos :cry:
