Had some white dial faces fitted by a 3rd party who by all account should be an expert at doing this (also had a new speedo converter fitted too as the old one was a bit ropey with dodgy connections)

Mainly the speedo and sometimes the rev counter seem to stick, then jump up to the correct reading, nothing major, just a pause at e.g 100mph then a jump to 110 very very quickly, similar sort of thing with the revs (at least I think, moves so fast I can hardly tell!! :D )

Could this be a problem with the needles being damaged slightly or rubbing on the new dial faces? or could it be the speedo conversion (this is actually a consistent 5mph out so needs adjusting slightly)

Cheers

could well be the speedo needles sticking or a loose connection in the converter. If it is the needles, I would imagine they are leaving a mark on the face

not spotted any marks but will examine them closely, gonna have to take the binacle appart to adjust the speedo error so will check the connections then, thanks fella

Unless extreme care is taken when removing the speedo needle in particular the needle shaft dislodges, at worse the speedo is scrap as the shaft will not go back correctly, also as you have found the needle needs to go back exactly the same position as it came off or the calibration is inacurate over the whole scale, it will be worth checking though in case it is as said elsewhere the needles are just catching.

The full proof way to check is with the speedo binacle removed again and the glass front removed ,blow on the needles they should easily move through the whole swing range, if they stick at all and it is not on the dial face then your looking for a new cluster.

mine stuck on the white dials, make sure they are stuck down around the middle, i had to file the needle on the rev counter, the tailend of the needle was sticking, very tricky and i had a very small file ,you could use a small nail file but be carfull, hold the needle firmly. works fine now, some kits are thicker

had the same thing, centre of the dial had worked loose from the backing and was rubbing on the needle. Anything below 70mph and it was a bit hit and miss, and quite often would be showing as 40mph when I was sitting still. Just fixed with a small drop of superglue behind that bit.

don't have to keep tapping the cluster now when going past speed cameras to check my speed!
