Anyone use their Z as a daily driver? If so how many miles are you doing and whats your avg mpg?

I'm looking for my first Z which will be replacing my Corrado as my daily driver, just need to get my facts near enough right before the missus finds out!

I used to use it as a daily driver but ended costing too much.

Round town you are looking at 16-18mpg and on the motorway 22-25 at 70-80mph. YOu can get 30mpg but you ahve to drive at 55-60mph all the way which is quite hard to do.

However mods, age of the car and condition of the car will effect the mpg.

Hi there mate - I use my swb, na, imported, manual Zed as a daily driver. Do approx an 18 mile round trip each day to/from work on quick country roads. Also do a bit of general running around town and overall I average 22-23 mpg. Not too bad I think for a 3 litre car. Haven't been on a long run yet.

Cheers apache, I'll be doing the daily trawl to Southampton from Emsworth, mostly motorway, but that M-way is the M27  about 270 miles a week

I use mine as a daily driver, can't tell you how much MPG it is as i haven't worked it out, but i haven't noticed any different to my 2.0ltr Frontera.

Pretty much 200miles to a tank full ~£45-£50 if that helps :)

around 18/19mpg as daily driver,

jeezus, how do you get that much? :D

I tend to get about 250 miles from a full tank (n/a, import, decat, back boxes, induction kit). I have managed to get 190 miles out of half a tank, but that was on a long trip doing 60mph all the way, which i hated :)

For the record, I get about 18mpg too, on a 3-mile, 15-minute journey to and from work. Plus the odd hour or so blat down an A-road every week.

I really don't know, I was getting awful MPG until I serviced all the connectors and changed to an apexi air filter, i also squeeze out 15% more with optimiax, also cleaned up the TB's and fixed an idling problem with the TPS.

Since then, i get good milage, most of my trips are around the 20mile mark.

I drive mine everyday. I also have a short wheelbase manual NA and get 22-23mpg on a mixture of roads, its not great as i used to have a 3.6 auto jaguar xj6 and it did a bit more. once you get down to 16-18mpg its not really practical for with super unleaded costing nearly £1/litre

I use mine daily, 15 miles each way down the A127 so I average about 15MPH and 19MPG!

The way I look at it is if I got 30MPG I would only spend £30 rather then £45 per week on juice but I'd rather pay the £3 per day to do it in my Z then a 2L Repmobile.

optimax gives good value IMHO...my bro in law borrowed the zed (jap auto tt) filled it up and did M25/M23 approx 220 miles round trip returned the car with just under 1/4 tank left in it

I use my UK spec TT auto every day. I drive about 50 miles round trip to/from work - so 250 miles a week. That uses around 55-60 litres - I always fill up the same time each week.

My journey is approx 20 miles on fast single carriageway A roads, with some hard overtaking to pass lorries and dithering old gits (or just to shame BMWs ;) ),plus 5 miles round Aylesbury.

not too bad for a 3000tt :D

HTH

Richard :smw:

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

For me: 40 miles a day for 5 days a week = 1 Tank

Usually optimax, but had to put some expensive BP s h i t e in it the other day from dry and it was close on £60 for a tank!

Also, Don't forget its not just fuel costs. You have the costs of servicing, tyres, brakes blah blah blah - it all equals a large amount of cash.

However, I do use mine as a daily driver. I've just gone through a set of rear tyres in 6 months, so another 350 odd quid from my wallet.....
