Yes it is true - there's a couple of them in America as Police Cars.

 

Timmy Turbo once posted a thread on them - there's also a Lotus Elite, I think it was used as a police car.

 

They're cars that have been impounded / taken as bounty off drug dealers or whatever and then used.

 

One thing, though, if you see that coming up behind you, you know not to just floor it because unless you're modded, you're pretty evenly matched.

not much use really are they cos in the US there were no TT 2+2's if i remember right, so they couldn't fit u in the back of a tt, not that they could in an NA but they couldnt catch a TT with an NA. Not much point in it all round.

Yes but they could catch you and wait for the normal cars to arrive. Usually high speed police chases incorporate about 20 cars, 4 helicopters and 6 K9 units anyway...according to "Police...STOP!" that is.

The other night on "Worlds Wildest Police Videos" on Sky the cops pulled over a red 300ZX but he decided to leave the scene. Left the cops standing. He was gone into the distance over about a mile.

Unfortunately the driver took a long left bend way too quick and rolled it at about 60 ish. Cops arrived as he climbed out of the car on it's roof down a ditch and did a runner. They said it was a high performance turbo car with a low performance driver!
