Right since fitting my rose joited tension rod arms there is some play somewhere, if i roll the car slowly and brake lightly then lift off i can feel some play like a bolt is too small for a hole or something and its rocking forwards and backwards with the braking. Its on both sides so I'm sure it to do with the rods.

I have tightened the gits more then a tyre place with an overset impact gun so I'm sure it is all tight.

Not sure what to look for as everything under the car is fine as i can see?

Gotta be the rods not tight enough!!! Seen this soooooo many times. You think its tight enough but it rarely is... Only other thing to check would be play in the upper arms. Jack the front of the car up and try to wobble the wheel with your hands at the top and bottom...

No worries m8 :) Let me know how you get on ;)

Well done andy, got the inpact gun out and went at the bolts like a mad man. Now this problem is sorted!

Still searching for the other knocking as its still there, will check upper arms over weekend.

Excellent :D I wonder if its something to do with re-using the old nuts. They seem to possibly be locking types and maybe they don't lock so well after they've been used...

Hey Andy

Which nuts are these? Do you mean the ones attaching the rod to the control arm? Never seen the rose jointed jobbies so wasn't sure if there was some other nuts on these?!

The reason I ask is I've had the car in the air today and tried to crowbar every suspension member to find out where the play is that I can feel. This also started a few months ago, a few weeks after fitting some tension rod bushes (PU ones though).

Same thing?

Doesn't matter. I just read your other post about this. Search was my friend. I'll give it a go tomorrow.
