OK, heres the story.

 

Had to take an oversized passenger to brighton at the weekend, who managed to bust my passenger seat belt, so i took it apart and fixed it, only i think ive knocked something to do with the door handle mechanism or lock whilst i was in there and now the door will not open either locked or unlocked, or from inside or outside.

 

So now i need to remove the door panel to get to the lock/handle mechanism, but how do i get the panel off with the door shut?

 

Seems like mission impossible to me.

 

All help greatly appreciated.

I dont think you can mate with out damaging the door. I think you can get the door handle off but not the door card.

The only thing I can think of is to take off the plastic bits around the door handle and door lock. You may be able to see the problem then. I can't see how you can take the door card off with the door shut though. :(

Would there be any point in taking out the electric window switch and trying to pull the release cable using a coat hanger or something pushed through the hole?

 

I can't see what you could have done when fiddling with the seatbelt to affect the door opening though. :(

It could be to do with the upper ancorage point, which you can get to with the door shut. Lower the window, and pop the round disc, and you can release the trim from there. Hopefully this'll release something that'll open the door for you.

Cheers dave that did help, its now sorted, with that trim removed and the door handle etc on the inside off it is possible to get a skinny hand inside, turned out when i pinched the bolts up on the door i tightened the lock bit up too tight, bloody dope!!!
