It's not looking good guy's, took the pcv valves off today and checked them, the small valve inside seems to be moving freely, hope thats a good thing!!, no sludge in pipes, or the valves give them a clean up, put it all back together, started the engine, as soon as it started to warm up, it started smoking again. Please tell me we are not talking turbo's??

Jeff tt, if you read this, your advice would be appreciated :hyper:

Hi Shunter,

don`t despair mate, the valve been free to move is not the crucial test of correct valve moreover it is the valves ability to close and stay closed when required to.

When holding the valve upwards did the small plate inside stay at the top of the unit or fall down? if seems VERY free to move then it will leak under high vacuum ( ie idle and overrun) it needs to have a very positive closure / seal when depressed and let go, anything else means it it needs changing, also remember to allow at least 300 to 500 miles before the smoke will stop as it will take a while for the inlet tracts etc to clear.

Thanks for the advce, jeff. Someone suggested an oil change, as fully synthetic oil maybe too thin for an old engine, any opinion on that, Jeff?
