lowering?

Hi, the car is completely standard 91 UK TT with hicas enabled.

What would you recommend using to lower the car as i wanted to close the gaps in the arches...will this cause probs with hicas?

Cheers,

DAN

mine s been done and look like just springs had no prob with the hicas just a pain on bumps and getting on and off my drive!!! oh apart from 4 of the 5 pass rear stud shering off whilst driving, but dont think that was anything to do with the lowering!! well hope not any way!!

eibach springs!!

all honesty mate did mean to lower it!! bought some shock second hand as my rears were fooked and they canme with the shock, look fooking low though, i recon about 35 -40 mm

which is too much for me, only got 16's on and now dont recon i'll get anything bigger on her, with out rolling the arches, even then still might not fit.

Hi Dan

I got some chassis Dynamics springs (£91) from amber which are 30mm lower and I still got 18"wheels in the arches, seems a good compromise and still allows a bit of travel/comfort, its very close on the front arch, but I have had no problems with wheel contact and its same as your 1991 uk TT Hicas enabled.

Of course its not a label product if your a label man.

How do you find the ride with those springs mate....very hard?

eibach springs!!

heard eibach are good mate... take it you have them, how much they drop urs by? Harden the ride a lot or still pretty comfortable?

I found the dynamics ok very impressed for a budget spring set, i wouldnt hesitate advising them for a ride firm but forgiving.

If you lower the car you upset the front wheel alignment and you cant adjust the settings you need without buying an adjuster kit which isnt cheap - Otherwise you will trash every set of tyres you put on it.....Do a bit of research before lowering the car.

As Bilky says above.. You will probably need a camber adjustment kit. Harve was supplying these here but not sure if they are still available. There are other options tho..

dunno, the offical drop in 0.8 of an inch a think, im not sure as i bought mine with uprated springs on it anyway(tanabe i think). when i replaced them i think it actually rode a bit higher, but it was still lower than stock
