james300 Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 ..for anyone who has them, Mantav8? And the guy who sells them is on here too? Please see pic and was wondering about the lip that I've pointed to. Is it an issue at all? It looks higher than the panel to the left? Thanks. Quote
mantav8 Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 Think that ones been rough fitted for the photo james, take it from me mine ain't like that!! :nono: P.S. I also filled in the keyhole on the pic-looks a lot better without it! Quote
kirbz Posted August 22, 2004 Posted August 22, 2004 i helped fit johnnyz32's and they do fit very will he also had the lock filled, they fit mouch better than other ones Kirbz Quote
Dave C Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Nice lights if you have a caravan or motorhome. I have seen these lights a few time recently on the above 2. The mould is a copy of the Paul Bailey light cluster (nothing to do with Lambo's) Once you have it you can choose which lights to fit. Luke sells these clusters on his website and has done for a long while now. Dont see what all the fuss is about, they have been around ages. Quote
james300 Posted August 23, 2004 Author Posted August 23, 2004 You woke up in a bad mood Dave? This set-up pi55es all over the Z Centre's Fiat one's IMHO. For a start you haven't got that recess of Luke's (see pic below) and these lights ARE bigger and are alot nicer unit. The Fiat one's always looked too small. So I guess the fuss is about a round light conversion that actually looks quite nice...well NICER, I should say. And its obviously the lights that are Lambo, not the actual panel. Quote
pete shrimp Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 I'd be more worried about this bit ;) Only kidding :D Quote
james300 Posted August 23, 2004 Author Posted August 23, 2004 any one seen these, they good Urgh!!! Man those are pig ugly! LOL. Straight out of the 80's.....make that 70's! As we all know, everyone's taste is different and thank goodness for that, be fookin boring otherwise. Quote
krsmayo Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 I saw them on ebay, never seen them before . still pref the other ones you have james Quote

James good observation on your behalf. I did indeed get out the wrong side this morning. :o Due to working on the sweet little Z till late.. I have the PB setup and have done for ages, yes it has the Fiat lights which I think are tacky. When looking at this Lambo setup, it looks the same as the PB setup which inturn Lukes setup has copied hence the statment. Sorry if I have upset anyone but looks to me that someone has just copied an old idea. The Lambo style lights are fitted to me mates motor home as standard, so are you sure these are genuine Lambo lights? Quote
james300 Posted August 23, 2004 Author Posted August 23, 2004 Yeah, sure they will be Lambo "style" lights, but then who knows? Maybe they are commonly used and are exactly the same!? Guess it is an old idea, certainly has been around a while but think the Fiat one's didn't come up to scratch. These are an improvement I reckon. And I think quite a few people were waiting for a larger looking round light conversion........and nothing to do with a Fiat! (hmmm, but to do with a caravan!!) Quote

paulbrem Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Trust me! I am also very keen on these lights but I saw a set on a battered old transit acting as a recovery/pickup this weekend! must have been a H reg  and no It hadent just recovered a lambo  Quote
james300 Posted August 23, 2004 Author Posted August 23, 2004 Oh well, caravan, recovery truck....... I still like 'em! Quote
Daves_Zed Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Does it not just mean then that a lot of people think they are a good looking light set-up??? I prefer the lambo ones over the fiat, but then I wouldn't put either on my Zed, but thats just me  And as for those ones from eBay, they are complete sh1te!!! :p Quote

The Fiat lights also look dated now. All the lights discussed on hear over the months, are either being used on busses/lorries or caravans. I fyour like me and like to be different you need to design a unit which no-one else has built The only way to go is R33/34 Conversion which I have been thinking about for ages, might even utilise the PB rear piece. paulbrem Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Oh well, caravan, recovery truck....... I still like 'em! Same ere m8! Quote
mantav8 Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 Right let's put this in perspective!! The lights themselves are HELLA units, and as such are used on various applications-such as f/lifts,pagini zonda, diablo, motorhomes etc.The fact there advertised as "LAMBO"lights is just to get your attention,as "RECOVERY TRUCK LIGHT CONVERSION FOR 300ZX" doesn't quite sound the same!! Anyway, I got em cos I like em,plus i can get replacement lenses from my local auto electrical supplier who distributes HELLA products ;) Hope this makes things clearer. Cheers. Quote
FASTREDZ Posted August 23, 2004 Posted August 23, 2004 yep got the paul bailey set up on my zed but i have completely blended it in with the rear of the car!! no gaps at all right round it just smothed in !! looks really smart sorry dave c LOL!!!, but you r right the bit sticking up in the pick shouldent be there try playing bout with it a bit more for a better finish took me a while to get mine in place properly.
