Guys,

A lad at work with a standard MR2 Turbo reckons that he can beat not onyl my car, 300zx tuned to high 300bhp's, but alos kick the arse of any s14 on a 1/4 mile strip.

He also reckons that a standard MR2 does the 1/4 mile in 13.5s......

How can this be, my 300zx standard has a quicker 0-60 and 0-100, and yet he claims his 1/4 mile time is better than most 300zx standard 1.4 times of about 14 seconds......

What do u guys think?

I am def goign to race him just to keep him quiet I think!!

Was that your boyfriend that typed the first one? either that or you're very confused.

Can't give you specific times but a mate of mine has a chipped MR2 turbo (276 bhp). It's quick, no doubt, but he's never yet managed to keep up with me.

any mr2 owners care to explain the above this was on post no2 of this thread

fair enough..........

LMFAO!

nah im 6'2", and theres plenty of room. :

Ah, I bet you use the same equasion to calculate your height that you do to calculate how good your plastic dinky toy is. Therefore I guess you must in reality be about 4'6", and I suppose that in that case, yes, you can fit in it.

As opposed to MR2 owners, who see the world all blurred through tears as they get their colons ripped open by their other gay friends

What? You think you're Michael Knight driving around in KITT now do you? :slap:

proof at last from a mr2 site......:)

Can anyone tell me if they have used a pillar pod made for another type car on a MarkII MR2. I have been unable to find an Autometer #20681 single gauge pod which is supposed to be for the Mark II MR2. I've been told you can mold the pod to the pillar using heat from a hairdryer.
:nono:  Why not let the cars talk? like has already been stated?

Being as there has been so many mr2 killed on the road by 300zx and lesser cars I think it speaks for itself.

What? You think you're Michael Knight driving around in KITT now do you? :slap:

Watch the videos then if you can't race.

And Homebrew same applies to you or did you miss them?

LOL and there is more....

Q: I'm getting wind noise from the door seal/ mirror area

This seems to be a common problem for MR2's - most people seem to just turn the stereo up and ignore it though !

To verify the problem, whilst driving along with the noise coming from the speaker, put your hand over the small tweeter cover behind the wing mirror - if you can feel air flowing past your hand you've got a small air leak.

Pry off the speaker cover, and then remove the three screws which hold the mirror and tweeter assembly

this may not be easy as the bolts have been held in place using thread locking glue which only releases its grip when heated above 75oC. Therefore use a hairdryer or similar (whilst protecting the other plastic trim) to head the head of the screw to above 75oC to remove them.

It's a bit like with MR2's on the road. It's fun to play with them for a while, but then you just get bored with them and piss off into the distance. That's exactly what I'm about to do with this thread.....

  So you or any 300zx owner have never had any problems? Dont be stupid

The supercharger on the MR2 is a Roots type which is very good for mid-range torque and makes a very driveable car, but the problem is as the revs rise that the blower starts to turn into something of a hairdryer.

lol...i will stop now

hairdryers hey? Is it normal to do a search for them?   gay boy

This thread is a pile of ****, if I wanted a Mister 2 I would have bought one, but I didn't, IMHO they are cheap, nasty little cars, so stop comming on here yabbering about them.

I think MR2 owners buy them because they cant afford the likes of a Z or the running costs associated lol

I dont like the look of them, I dont like the sound of them, and I dont like the interior of them. An MR2 turbo to the standard bystander would just be an MR2, 'oh look another mr2' they look horrible IMHO! The Z is more of a head turner, more luxurious and IMHO a better car.

I also dont like the people who drive them as they all seem to be on here just to wind people up? and they definatly sound like they have something to prove? perhaps because they do, because everyone knows the MR2T is over rated, over sized mx5.

The MR2 turbo is perhaps quick down the quater, but not as quick as a Z ;). Find me the documented times from a reputable car road test company that shows the MR2 turbo is better than a Z? And how do we know those mr2's are stock? I have seen MR2 turbos run rubish 1/4 miles? same as I have seen Z's run rubbish so quit yabbering on about the best ones you have seen!

On the road, equal in any gear, the Z floors it, bye bye MR2, and the comment about bhp per ton, its not about, its about total torque output that will relate to the overall faster car.

And round the twisties mate no problem, cue my racelogic, nearly a foot of rubber either side of the rear and 400bhp ;) see you any time mate, and I wont even use the nos either I wont need it!
