Have wanted to lower the zed for ages, but when i was at Billing it looked like a bloody oil rig in comparison to most of your zeds, so its getting done soon as. So what do you recommend? Eibach? Avo? Where will i get them for the best price?

Should i replace the shockies aswell as the springs?

All help appreciated.

My car has been lowered on Tein springs and it feels awesome.

Considering I have 18" wheels the ride is not that rough but handling is bloody good

cheers guys. Where did you get the blitz chris?

Do you know anywhere in the UK for Eibach springs Scoops?

Is that coil overs? Think they're a bit expensive for me.

Is that coil overs?

Dont know. They were on the car when it came from Japan. How do I know the difference between coilovers and the normal springs (im a total newbie so dont laugh)

dont bother , states will be cheaper, inclusing getting shafted on taxes and stuff!!

gte some kyb adjustables aswell while you are at it, top stuff.. i really rate the ride in mine, not harsh at all

I was wanting the KYB's aswell. Did you get both from that site then scoops. How much did you end up paying after tax etc if you dont mind me askin?

not sure mate, i'll have to hunt for the receipt

but i know kyb list them on their website but couldnt supply them in this country, probably not enough demand.

Cheers Scoops. Its looking like Eibachs with KYB's (maybe Koni) so far. Plenty good reports, just gotta find the best prices.

Unless anyone has better suggestions.

James300, what are the AVO's like?

What ever happened to that group buy on Konis? Did i miss it? Mr. Duff?

Hi- I bought a set of KYB adj from "Powergarage" in the states- saw them on Ebay $305 + $95 shipping. I didn't pay tax on them (I've bought a lot from USA, sometimes I get billed for VAT/Duty sometimes not- I think the post office pick packages at random)

Here are a few sellers from Ebay.com today

Well pleased with the AVO's on mine. IMHO they lower the car perfectly! Progressive too at an excellent price. They are quite a drop though compared to some, about 30mm iirc. But exactly what I was after.

I'm still interested in the Koni group buy........its all gone a bit quiet?

  • 3 weeks later...

I got Evos as well and I am happy with them, 30mm lower for a hundred quid and they work with 18" wheels, got mine via Amber performance,

I got Avo's as well, damn good drop. Here's a pic crap quality tho;

As you can see, running 18's 265x35 profile front they go right under the arches, on the back the wheels are at the arches too on 265x40.

They dont rub, but on the front they can hit the splash guard so I had to trim it back.

Most people who see my car that have had theirs lowered are suprised how squat me car is on them compared to theirs.

  • 4 years later...

Avoid them! they are similar to a few sets I have seen and the quality is very questionable, the seating is unsecure and at MOT time they would likely fail.

Much better to follow the proven springs mentioned by others in this ( old ) thread.

If you want adjustable ride height without wanting to go the full coilover route, then the tried and tested quality version of that are GC Coilovers from the US. They use Eibach springs and are a highly rated product by those from over the pond. :)

i got my tein monoflex off ebay for £400 (used), but beware, once you lower it, be prepared to renew a lot of other components like the tension rod bushes, inner and outer rear balljoints and so forth due to the increase in stress

You should replace them anyway regardless of stress as you're changing the geometry of the car. :)
