can anyone help me? just recently my front breaks have started to creak i've tried everything to stop them but with no luck,

i went to a garage the guy said this is a comman fault with the 300zx is this true?

i have the same problem :( . I dont know what causes it, as i have tried using lots of copper grease but no luck :confused: .

Yeh its a very common problem, changing you pads and shims and giving everything a good clean should get rid of the problem until the pads wear down again. I usually find that i get caliper creak when the pads are half worn. Changing your disks will also help to prevent the noise for a while.

I've found that they do this if you use too much grease. Water gets trapped in between the slots of the anti squeel? plates. Clean all of the grease from all of the parts ans re-coat with a very fine layer. A VERY fine layer. And while you are at it, press each piston in so that if any of them are jammed, you'll free them. Watch out for an overflow at the brake fluid container.

I've had caliper creak for several months now and have tried everything, the creak's still there! I'm expecting it to one day dissapear as mysteriously as it started.

I've had the calipers examined coss they sound so dodgy, but everything's fine.

Turn your radio up.

I had exactly the same thing,when the brakes wear and the pads become thin the pistons have to move a little further and do start to creak.

 

Best thing is to put in new pads,this should stop the problem...

 

BTW i tried everything else copper grease,cleaning the pads and everything around it,sandpaper on the pads.........nothing.........changed the pads creak goes!!!
