The small windows in the back of the car have this nasty purple tint stuff on it, the boot had some tinted stuff on it too but peeled off lovely, this stuff is causing me real grief...anyone know how to get it off without scratching the window to b*ggery?! I tried the stanley knife and it shreds, is this what i should carry on doing and then worry about the glue or could i heat it off somehow?

Cheers

That's standard stuff from the factory!

I would think it would be a nightmare to remove...

you would think correctly! standard?! its gotta come off its rather nasty!

hairdryer on it to warm up the glue then it should peel off, then use a bit of solvent on the glass to get rid of the gluey stuf or any tacky marks left.

I dont think it is standard stuff? all the rear quater windows and rear screen are clear that I have seen, the only tinted bit as standard are the black inserts in the door pillars that show as black on the glass.

Could be then, me mates got an import none on his, maybe its the later ones that have it?

Anyways, whether someone has tried tinting badly or it is factory hopefully the method above should work ;)

I used zippo lighter fluid as a solven on a Nissan Quality sticker on the window, worked really well.

I had to de-tint all of my car when I got it, At night it was impossible to see!

use a steam cleaner (wallpaper stripper) leave on window for 1-2mins. Then rub with a scouring pad buy the ones recommended for teflon pans I think their called something begining with V.....(green top). these ones won't scratch the glass.

THis is how I did it m8 and worked a treat,

Hope this Helps

today has been a good day for marriage, if it wasnt for me being married, i wouldnt have had any nail polish remover in the house, and if i didnt have that, getting that sh*t off the window would have been a nightmare, it was a bit anyways, used a blade and brute force but the glue came off easy as pie!

Cheers!

now im trying to undo those nasty clips to get the horrible tweed off for my coming red leather!

Just spent an hour outside trying to remove the horrible great "300ZX" sticker from my rear window, oh those wacky japanese they do love a good joke.. at least I didnt have "Love, Drive, Passion, Desire" or some other mental slogan down the side of my car.....

Lighter fluid and a wallpaper stripper seems to do the trick, takes bloooooody ages though. :(
