Just thought I'd post this after my latest experience. You may or may not have seen that my petrol filler neck tube thingy was completely rusted away. Anyway, the reason I'm posting this is to suggest that you just keep an eye on things down there as it is well hidden away and I had no clues whatsoever until the pipe was completely goosed Only a five second job to remove the arch liner at the back and check the condition etc - god knows how much fuel I've wasted cleaning the roads with it... The problem would have come if some fuel had splashed onto the exhaust and gone up in flames.... I wouldn't have been very happy then A very quick check would be to smell just inside the wheel arch just after filling up.
