Morning all!
Just thought I'd sound the alarm bells with regards to those of us with small bullseyes, chips and cracks in our windscreen. I just had an unfortunate experience with a lorry, lots of little rocks (could have been gravel) and close proximity. I ended up with several small bullseye chips in the windscreen (and numerous paintchips on the bumper and lower spoiler). Took it to my local Auto Windscreen Repairshop and had it all fixed on the insurance (only if you're fully comp). I asked the guy if cars pass MOTs if they have a star or bullseye outside the line of sight of the driver and he showed me documents stating that a car with any chip, star, bullseye or crack will fail an MOT regardless of where on the windscreen it is. Damn me thinks, that's harsh. Now, not all MOT stations will fail a car for these minor chips but if you are subsequently stopped by the plod and you show them a clean MOT certificate, they can go after the MOT station and revoke their licence.
Just thought I'd let you know.
Cheers!
Danny
