Anyone know of a good place to get the cambelt service done on a ZX near Colchester??

Sick of Cowboys who are "willing to give it a go"!!! :nono:

Garage on Canvey Island, £200 ish for cam and all other belts. They know their stuff. Not Zed people but very very good mechanics. No its not that close to you, but its not too far.

No Cowboy, but again in southend

Nearest place has got to be Nisstek (SE Nissan) in Maldon. They used to do cambelt change for about £250 - not sure now though? Make sure you get a definite deadline when you book the car in - 01621 858856

Well there is SE (NissTek) in Maldon or a Toyota specialist called Westfields ,who have a pretty good reputation, in Rawreth near Rayleigh.

Cheers guys. SE in Maldon have a work-waiting list until about three christmas' time!!

Might try the Canvey outfit though!

or do it yourself, not as difficult as it may seem on first look. And no better way to get to know the car than work on it. Alo the benefit of knowing that everything has been done. If you go to the garage route, make sure they do the whole service not just the belt, as that is false economy in my book

I can recommend a place in Ipswich, they recently did my 60k service, belts pump etc and have worked on other Zeds in the past, I will give you an address and tell you what it cost if your interested.

cool cheers. How much did they charge you for this service?

Need to get it done to my old Zed b4 the Terminal Velocity Event as its getting a couple of blasts down the tarmac!
