Everyone has reason to gripe for one reason or another at one person (or organisation) or another. We come home after a day of not being able to complain about all the things that wind us up, then come to this BBS (or any other) and realise that all the same rules still apply here! Annoying or what?

I ain't been round here for a while but reading back over a few notorious recent threads, especially those in the private forums I still get the impresion that some folk are getting a bit too involved in BBS politics and forgetting the real reason we are all members here.

Moderation stinks, but then again so does any form of social control. Think about it: Last year I paid a total of @ £23,400 in income tax, not counting NICO or local tax and I can come here and enjoy a far greater amount of freedom than in the "real" world for only 20 quid! Bargain or what?

And since I have undoubtedly saved thousands as a result of the advice from this BBS, including the time my local dealer was trying to charge me > £3,000 for a head gasket change I didn't need, its even more of a bargain!

Just a brief realisation after a few :duffer: but with all the recent hiatus I've been reading, thought I'd put my few quids worth in.

Take care all

Getting to be pretty much that way myself. Sure, I've had my probs with this BBS but right now I'm thinking........does it really matter?

Nothing can be ALL good, not even a lottery win but one thing is for sure: you do not have a choice whether to pay taxes or not. You do have a choice whether to subscribe to this place or not. If you don't like it then don't subscribe. Paying £20 just to come on here and get stressed sounds like too much hard work, you know? You can't agree with everybody but if you get what you are after from the place then what's the problem?

Or am I just mellowing too much now I'm over 30?

Its all a state of mind. This is a pritty cool site and most of the petty squables are just wind ups. If people are saying something you don't like move on to a different thread FFS I'm 40's so I'm mostly Horizontal

it's so easy to be candid in cyberspace and upset people unintentionally. so best to treat what's said with a pinch of salt. If ppl who argue on here met, they wud prolly get on fine IMHO.

When are going to meet you Nelson ?.

I think your are one of the longest standing members here that I haven't actually met yet :(.

I'd like to meet many of you also, after talking 2 u over the last 2 years - just never seems convenient. Maybe Billing next year when I've tidied up my 200SX.

good question. bit busy - but that's a lame excuse I know. I have no wife/kids. guess I'm worried I wouldn't enjoy it, and wud prolly come on my own.

lots of people come down to meets on their own, I went to the last brighton meet on my own (mainly because i woke up thinking i wasn't going to go, 10 minutes later i was on my way to the m25 to go to one of the best meets ive been to). Everyone makes you feel welcome, you'll get a few jokes aimed your way no doubt but everything is always in good humour.

I can take a joke and a bit of self-mockery - might be interesting for people to perhaps dispel a few myths based on their misconceptions about those they've only spoken to in cyberspace.

I cud bring my grippers for MAC1 and Bigroy to try. ;)

Do most ppl kip over ?

Yeah, come on mate, be good to see you.

You do realize you've just invited another scouser. :nono: Well i've got a couple of extra paddlocks :slap:  .

Come on Nelson if you can take (not my wheels) the leg pulling you'll have a good time I'm sure.

when is it ? I can't see any dates in the events section.

Check Billing or JAE.

It's on the 24th/25th July ! 2 weeks time.

wud I be too heavy for MAC to throw in the lake ? I'm 14.5 stone.

I dont know but I can shoulder press one no probs :duffer:

Nelson, I too turn up to most meets on my own, and I have only been a member here just over a year. The carry-on that goes on here is not personal and I have never known it to spill over into a real life meet, everyone realises that the board is two dimensional. Most of the posts here would be minimal if carried out over the phone. Apart from the piss take ones :)
