Right, what is going on?

 

It has come to my attention that Mark Hanley has stepped down from his post as Club Sec and to be honest I am not impressed about this.

 

Mark has IMHO done a cracking job while he's been doing this role for this forum.

 

Can I also point out that also IMO there are some absolute free loaders doing a good impression of members of European Parliament in power on this forum.

 

Like for instance AndrewG, when was the last time he posted on this forum, where is his input? How did he get to where he is now as a member of the head honchos of this board?

 

P1ssed off with this, not gonna bleat on about being a share holder so you can can that MO FO attitude before you start...I have been a member of this board for eons when it was just a BB when Craig and Nico ran it so don't even start that sh1t with me!

 

Just think that people like Mark and Macca and AndyP are doing a sterling job of keeping this place alive, oh and that gay boy Groves who hosts the site in the first place! :) ;) Love ya Mike!

So can we please have some support for the people who do their best for this place instead of constant criticism all the time.

 

I would, personally, like to see support for Mark H...I don't wanna see him leave his position and would be more than happy to see him back where he belongs to be honest...hope you feel the same way.

 

I know that this is not a communist state type BB so please, if you have a problem with the H being club Sec voice it now, if not some encouragement to get him back would be appreciated I reckon.

It is comforting to know that after a year's work, people have given some positive feedback on what has been achieved and realise that club is a work in progress, not a company with people actually making money at a desk!

Well the post that all the "shareholder" stuff comes from, got me flack from all angles, people got accused of feeding me information, having private agendas, stirring up trouble, all sorts of shennanigans.

And that was just one post. I dont let that sort of thing phase me, cos as said, I say what I mean to the person I want to say it to.

 

I must admit I haven't been saying what I mean to the person on the thread and I thought as sec I couldn't do that, I have tried to maintain my anonimity as sec.

If you read back mate, the subject of me breaking my zed has already been covered, but it was my zed and I would have made money out of it wherever, so i dont think it counts as making money out of the forum and, as posted, I like to think that the members who bought also shared the "bounty" in the form of cheaper than usual parts

There was no information, I have spoken to several of the commitee menbers in a private arena (including your goodself) and at no point have I divulged any information, or used any information given to me.

There is no secret agenda by the committee, the comittee at this point in time is legally responsible for the forum and will have to answer personnaly for any legal action taken against it!

I have already stated in this thread, and others that I was grateful that the forum was here as a vehicle for me selling my zed and other benefits, I also stated that I hoped I had gone some way in contributing to it.

No I havent, as the information came to me through the grapevine and as I can only substantiate it by dragging others into my arguments I am not willing to do that. See the commenbt re information given to me in a private forum

I never at any point disagreed with things that were done, only in the way that they were done. You said to me on the phone that the commitee had made a decision based on information that the members did not and should not have access to. I put it to you then, and again elsewhere, that there is no information that the comittee should have access to that the members shouldn't. I didnt suggest for a second anywhere on this forum that people be allowed to slander anyone, but I did say that I believed that to pre judge a sub judis case by acting against onre of the participants was to import risk to the forum, both morally and legally.

 

I asked for a statement of the fact s to be made and it was made. case closed as far as I was concerned.

 

I did not at any time say that the commitee had a secret agenda, in fact the same accusation has been directed at me ( again through the grapevine) "the fact that I only put in for the posts in the election to cause trouble", well if by causing trouble it was meant that I wanted to force an election, in this case your grapevine is bang on, I have a stated belief that if people are to hold positions in any organisation then they should be both elected and accountable. But I will say again, if I had been elected I would have given the post 110%, I dont do anything to be mischievous.

We already have guidelines in the constitution and the Acceptable Use Policy, what other guidelines would you want and what covering! The amount of guidelines you can have is infinite, there comes a stage where you have to trust the people making the judgements and have confidence in their ability! Rules are for the guidance of wise men is a phrase that seems appropriate!

Seems as if you getting oversensitive here jock, the other post was a joke as denoted by my smileys and acknowledging the fact we are all human and can make mistakes! My other reference to the grapevine was given to me by Mac, in which he said the only criticism he has heard against me was some members thought I was too vocal. My answer was that it is my job as club sec, I try and deal with all electronic questions regarding the club, this means I have to give people answers, when and if the club is criticised, whether the criticism is constructive or not!

Clarity about what when where and whom, we can give untold reasons about what action we have taken and why, including a cost analysis of the stationery we have bought. When do we draw a line under our executive decisions and say that is that, the analysis of our decisions would be infinite, with each debate unfolding layer after layer!

I don’t like insinuation that I am taking the moral high ground, and I won’t lower myself to the level of petty bickering, below the belt Jock!

 

I would like to pride myself on the level of fair play I have tired to propagate on this forum and I have tried to do my best guys! Thanks for the positive words some people used to say thanks for the work I have done, yeah sure the forum ain’t perfect, but you have a good bunch of people working for you and trying to make progress, the elections will be next year and the sec post will be sooner, if you don’t like the way things have been done then vote how you like!

I am truly sorry if you felt that anything I said was a direct criticism of you, it wasnt. instead a comment on the way certain things were done. If it came across as personal I can only think it was because you, at times, appeared to be the voice of the commitee

 

I am similiarly sorry if you felt that I had got personal or snidey, it wasnt intended in that vein.

 

There are no personal issues here Mark, I have met you in person and am sure we will meet again, had I personal issue with you I would have addressed it personally.

 

I cannot, however, apologise for bieng passionate. If I believe something is wrong it is not in my personality to "leave it".

The thing that really annoys me is that the people that go on about this share holder crap have made a few quid out of this place I can tell you.

 

And they are not the only ones !!!!!!!!

 

Although Jock is a good friend so I am bound to support him, he has raised some good points in this and other recent threads , which we (the club/members) never seem to get direct answers and action from.

 

As we are now a "club" can one of the committee members please provide a copy of laws/regulations concerning running a club so that all the members are clear what we can and can not request and what we are to expect now that we are a club

Now those of you that know me know I don't even own a Zed (or ever have). But I've met a few of you and Mark and I have shared the occasional beer or three when he was first involved in setting up the club. Knoweldge on setting up the GTROC has, I hope, helped Mark and the rest of you as a result. Therefore, I'm a little upset to see this kind of chat going on. Blimey - and I thought Wimbledone was all about wacking something to the other side only for it to come back with interest!!!! :nono:

 

Last Summer there was a big argument on the Skyline/GTR Register as a result of which the WebMaster shut down the forum with a message that read

"It's a lovely day and the weather forecast for the next few days is for more hot weather. Go outside, lie down and take a breather - see you all in a few days"

- it seemed to work.

 

I'm not suggesting shutting it down but - let's all take a "Chill Pill" or something.

 

I don't know what has been said, might have been said, who owns what, who makes money, who is and who is not in charge.......... but I do know the reason you all (or most anyway) visit this site is because of your mutual interest in Zeds.

 

Whatever is going on (and there ALWAYS are hidden agendas) - because you can't see 'em don't mean they don't exist why not say it or leave now? Not nice, but effective.

 

Now - if you all think I'm a nosey ****** and have nothing to do with this, then fine. But, maybe as an outsider and someone who has seen similar things before, - maybe there is something to be said for long deep breaths, a bit of openness and honesty and less CRAP!
