Spoiler brake light

Hi all

Just bought a 3rd brake light to fit on my UK Zed (Cheers, AndyZ  ) and have a couple of questions......

1) do the UK cars have the wiring in the tailgate ready to accept the plug from the brake light?

2) what bulbs do they take? rear cover of lights says 13w but Halfords  and local motor factors stock the capless bulbs in 10w, 16w or 21w......

Thanks

Richard :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Don't Know About Having The Plug There Already, you'll Have To Check.

If Not It Means Running A Wire Down The Gate-fun- And Splicing Into The Brake Light Wiring.

UK models do not have a connection for the spoiler brake light as the b/l was never fitted to the UK model , they should have a 'blanking panel' where the spoiler b/l is. :)

I confirmed this when i was trying to find out why my spoiler b/l was'nt working (UK car) and looked into it. I discovered that it was'nt connected to anything so thats why it never worked !

My car (UK) had obviously been fitted with an import rear spoiler with the b/l after a bump at the rear in its past.

Other reasons for an import rear spoiler to be fitted is the usual 'split & soggy syndrome' that afflicts so many of these cars.
