Anybody know where I can get an offside tie rod bush? Nissians tell me that I have to buy the entire rod at 100 quid plus Vat ish. I beleive that Superflex have made these (and rear subframe bushes - apparently these are special as well?) before but are special order 6 weeks or so...

Anyone point me in the direction of some quicker than that as the MoT is in about 2 weeks!!

Mark,

I have a set of tension rods that have covered only 40k miles. I think this would be your easiest option.

Other than that, you can try most performance parts supliers in the U.S

Email me if interested.

If its the tension rod bushes that you are after, I got mine from Jim Wolf Technology (US). $100 for the pair (urethane) + $35 p+p. They use UPS. I got mine within 48 hours! I have been informed that energy suspension do them for $60 for the pair. Goto Twinturbo.net for the contact numbers.

Dunno if you got me email - I am interested in your tension rods. Call me on 07711 263123 and we can arrange to meet up.

Cheers!

  • 4 weeks later...

I am interested in seeing if there is any further information on replacement Tension Bar Bushes. I have to replace mine.

I have taken a look at Superflex Polyuathane Bushes, after seeing their advert. The prices for other cars look okay, but their website (www.SUPERFLEX.co.uk) does not cover Nissan vehicles. I may call them tomorrow.

A mate at work mentioned a product called Polyflex that he had heard of, but I cannot find details.

Any ideas on tracking down Polyuathane Bushes for a 300ZX TT in the UK?

Thanks, Geoff

You can also get replacement bushes from www.suspension.com. I got some for Dave Marley from there when I bought my rear subframe kit, a lot cheaper than JWT and maybe not quite so hard.

The tie rod set is...

part: 7-7105

price: $33.00 (for the pair - not each!)

Speak to bruce at sales@suspension.com

Thanks for the info. I did speak to SuperFlex, who were very helpful (so have not followed up on SRP). Have ordered Tension Bar Bushes and should arrive this week, at £47.61 the pair (VAT included) the pair plus £2.35 postage.

The items are stock, being the same as the 200SX, however of note is that other 300ZX items are available but may take "around 30 days for manufacture and despatch from Australia".

I was concerned about harshness of ride, which perhaps some US products suffer from (?), and was assured that the stock items are a match for our more bumpy road conditions. Of note is that the SuperFlex product is available in 4 firmness grades if you wish.

I too can confirm the standard Nissan parts are expensive - i was quoted £98 without vat.
