In the quest for a quicker 0-60 than my NA, I've just booked my bike CBT, and hopefully on to a quick 3 day direct access test fairly soon. Never been on a bike before, but I'm looking forward to it.

Insurance on bikes hasn't been the total killer I expected. Less than the zed when I was expecting a lot more. Hope I pass first time. :)

Good luck!! Be careful but have FUN!! Don't try getting your knee down on the way home from CBT! :D NO! - seriously - DON'T try it! :nono:

Enjoy be safe and watch the Zed get forgotten as you spend all your money on new tyres and knee sliders!

Yeah enjoy it mate, me and me Bro did ours together years ago. I got to ride a 500 on the ride-out as one of the 125 shag piles had a brake light out! So me being the most experienced rider got to blast away from the Bro and the others, LMFAO, me Bro was on a Hongda (spelt correctly, must be a spin-off from Honda I guess!) oh and I only got one question wrong on the written exam aswell. Me Bro got full marks, talk about competitive Brother or what! ROFL :)

But sadly I never finished off with my test whereas he did, he's now looking for a gixxer 600 I think after riding around on an Aprillia sports scooter for the past 12 months.

When I were a lad......... My test involved the instructor stood on the side of the road while I went around the block twice. How easy is that? Best of luck mate. You'll have bikes in the blood forever now. :hyper:

Good luck.

Go easy on the front brake in the wet or you'll be off!

I know a fair bit about bikes if you (or anyone) ever need any help.

I passed my test a long time ago too, when the examiner stood at the side of the road while I made a circuit round a particular block.

Now for the funny ( to some ) bit. One of the instructions given is that he will step into the road holding up his clipboard, and you must make an emergency stop. Due to being held up by a reversing transit, I arrived to where the examiner was lying in the road awaiting an ambulance, which had been called when he stepped out in front of a very bemused motorcyclist who happened to be riding an identical bike but wasn't quite prepared for an emergency stop. Poor chap broke his wrist and collar bone, but still had the decency to pass me. The other biker wasn't quite as nice.

Simon. :D

That is bad. but funny. sounds like the bike test used to be 'a little' less intense than it is now.

Rich- where is it you work (when your not skiving/injured) is it a bike sales place? Having talked to some people it seems the best thing might be to go for a 600, and I like the Kawasaki- fast enough to scare me but handle OK too.

I'll shut up about this now as it's not exactly zed related. I am just feeling a bit miserable as it's gone back into the body place to get the bumper sorted (again) so I'm going around in a corsa and feeling fed up. That zed is my daily driver!!

Totally agree. However, do ride through town centres looking at yourself in shop windows. Not that I've ever done that you understand.
