Good idea/Bad idea

Just been looking on the thai 300zx club web site and come across a little 'how to' get new look headlights. I know there is better ways of doing this but at a cost of around 0p is this a good idea. Will it result in leaky headlights? Will it look crap?

 

Suggestions please....

    I may try this as I have some metalic silver undercoat paint which will probably do nicely.
