186mph in standard Guise

Okay, then guyz.

I have read on this forum that the TT will do 186 in standard, delimited form.

Where did this figure come from and can is be sudstantiated?

The 200sx forum think we're talking b***ocks!

Help!

200 forum my arse, more like the land of the Turbo Pixies to me!!! Hmmmm, Pixies, where did I hear about that??? RECENTLY??? No names to be mentioned or could damage an upstanding citizens rep. LOL!

Anyway, 'tis true I seen it wid me own eyes bubba! Sure someone will get the all important proof for ya in a few minutes/hours.

There is a lovely speedo pic with the needle cranked round at 186mph with the engine temp going a little skyward and the revs backing it all up! Yahhooooooo, whooop whooooopppppp!

They're just jealous! Stone heads!!! ROFL!

P.S. Had 150mph outta me Supra Turbo(single, not twin tub) and she still had some to go so I dread to think what the Z is capable of!

Check out the JUN website which gives even more substantiation(fuck me, that's a bloody large one for me!) to the accusations of "Bullshit!" coming from the other side of the server...he hee heeeeee!

Well, the maximum speed of a manual TT is around 186mph based on the gearing, but I don't think you can reach that speed without increasing the boost.

I reckon 170-175mph is more like it with standard boost, exhaust, etc.

IGNORE THIS! POSTED ON THE WRONG THREAD! DOH!

I think 186 is a little to much for 300bhp to obtain , but wiht limiter removed quite possible

I managed about 175mph before i got brown unides and backed of (yes officer it was in germany) biggrin.gif

you guys suck you can legally cruise out at no speed limits if you're by germany

like it ever stopped me anyways, i cruised at 120mph in my 4 cylinder camry before lol

it's possible to get that high on a camry le, it's kinda scary though lol, and after you hit 105mph it goes up like 1mph every 5seconds lol, when a cop tried to pull me over by the time he got upto me i snuck in between 2 semi's inbetween them lol, and when the cop got around the semi there was 2 other camry's the same color and design, kinda lucky wink.gif

They have actually stopped the autobhan no spee dlimit thing in most areas of germany, but you just do it anyway biggrin.gif

besides i was on a closed circuit. Its called Europe lol

superguy.jpg BUFF MAN 300ZX SUPER HERO!!!! or is that DUFFMAN????

With standard tires -245/45ZR16 on 8.5J X 16 rims, the manual twin turbo (final drive ratio 3.69:1) the turbo achieves the following speeds:

Gear MPH RPM

1st 43 7200

2nd 72 7200

3rd 107 7200

4th 139 7200

5th 155 6000 with speed limiter

5th 165 6400 without speed limiter

5th 186 7200 intermittent theoretical, rev limited, 400 hp at least.

The automatic ratios are: 1st 2.78, 2nd 1.54, 3rd 1.00, 4th 0.69, so results for the turbo are:

Gear MPH RPM

1st 48 7200 Held in first

2nd 87 7200 Held in second

3rd 139 7200 Held in 3rd, overdrive off

4th 155 5500 with speed limiter

4th 178 6400 without speed limiter, not attainable by stock TT

4th 201 7200 intermittent theoretical, rev limited, but probably requires about 450 hp to do it.

This info was taken from Henri Le Hir's post on http://www.twinturbo.net heres the post http://www.twinturbo.net/cgi-bin/ttnet_viewmsg.pl?forum=main&msg_id=546617&words=gear::ratios

I just hope the format of this post doesnt go pear shaped. biggrin.gif

so that means after I get my JWT ecu installed, I should be able to run close to 186mph? o_O

In theory, but as you may know not all engines are the same so you may have to get yours dyno tested to verifiy 400hp.

But as the JWT ecu raise's the rev limit to 7200 and the stock gearing allows approx 186Mph it should be possible.

(just dont get caught trying to prove this) biggrin.gif

haha, honestly my engine's only got 10,576 miles on it, a fully rebuilt engine was installed within a about 6months before I got it, and yes they did drive a lot for 6months.

the wiring and everything is good, new clutch, and tranny's been rebuilt at the sametime of engine, it was'nt needed, but hell it did'nt make much a price difference since most the car was being rebuilt, kinda like bulk discounts i guess.
