OK, here's a silly teenage question I'm having an argument about here...what's the hardest town / city in the UK?

 

We've got votes for Stoke on Trent, Wisbeach, Merthyr Tyddvill (?sp), Portsmouth and Glasgow here so far.

 

I would point out hardness is not my 'specialist subject'. I'd be about as good in a scrap as a wet tea towel.

i'll add my vote for coldharbour lane...aka the front-line in Brixton, the only place i've seen guns openly waved around and folks mugged for their benefits as they leave the post office...car jacking is a distinct possibilty in a nice motor so if you visit keep the doors locked...no joke

still its worth mentioning Penzance which is referred to the locals as Menspants...spend a friday night there and you'll know why...crazy fishing fighting cornish seem to revel in tearing it up...

there was a program about the hardest pub in the uk a pub in Tilbury ESSEX won it, they printed the pub on the front page of the sun with the title hardest pub in britain!

they then started to get coach loads of thugs down to fight them, so they had to shut the pub down :rofl:

 

There is a Scotts addition of the Sun and a English so that Pub wouldn't qualify as hardest in Britain and if it had to shut down because hen nights from Barnsley were coming and beeting um up, then it wasn't that hard.

 

Having been around a bit in my time I'd have to say the Scotts aren't any harder. They're just mindlessley Pissed as R soles most nights. They often wake up next day and wonder why they are shy of several teeth and their hand is the size of a football,why it no longer functions and who's fooking axe is stuck in the side of theheed. :rofl:

I'm originally from an estate in Glasgow called Drumchapel, and one story of one of my dads 'mates' (who was incidentally the most wanted man in the UK at one time for escaping from peterhead prison) was sitting in one of the local 'bistros' and a guy walked up and shot him point blank with a shotgun it took part of his shoulder, cheek and ear, he stood up and said 'who the f*ck do you think are you shooting!' and chased after him, beating him into oblivion after it...

 

As a youth I *seriously* used to watch the running battles/stabbings/police chases from my Grannies window every weekend, we wouldn't even bother with the TV!

 

Glasgow was recently found to be the murder capitol of Europe :-/ what a distinction :-/

 

Hence the reason I now prefer to live in relatively civilised England :D

just to put in a word for brighton...seeing as i live here...there was guy murdered down here the other day over a road rage type thing...its posted elsewhere on the forum...and we may yet get the record for the worst ever 2 car pile up...8 dead so far...only happened on Sunday too...

No the worst single car accident was in Ireland da uder day :rofl:

 

No seriously a car crashed into cemetry near Athlone on Sunday. The Athlone Police have recoverd 172 body's so far.
