Hi

I am going to view a Zed tomorrow and have been told that the following small problems require attention.

1. Air Con compressor is seized

2. Electric aerial doesn't extend/retract

3. Front bumper lightly scraped at bottom

4. Passenger mirror glass "drooping"

How easy and what cost would the above work entail??

The car is a 1990, N/A, Targa Top, Manual with 52,000 miles on it.

Imported 4 years ago with Full UK SH,

Any other checks to carry out or things to look out for ?????

Cheers

2750 and it comes with 6 months tax and a new 12 month ticket.

Also 2 recent new tyres and rear dampers plus a one year old SS exhaust

How does it all sound??

Hi

I am going to view a Zed tomorrow and have been told that the following small problems require attention.

1. Air Con compressor is seized - cant be fixed, second hand 60-80

2. Electric aerial doesn't extend/retract- usually rusted, might be able to free with a bit of wd40

3. Front bumper lightly scraped at bottom

4. Passenger mirror glass "drooping"

How easy and what cost would the above work entail??

Also have a look in the FAQ section for the buyers guide

£2750- Blimey- that sounds like a bargain. When I was looking it was hard to get anyting under 3.5k Ended up trading in my QX working out about 4k.

What you got there shouldnt take anymore than a few hundred quid to fix so looks like a good deal.

Try this- http://www.300zx.co.uk/tech/BuyingZ.htm

Its what I should have looked at before buying mine, but I'm getting there slowly.

The biggest cost is going to be the air con compressor. About 80quid s/hand plus fitting and regas, about 150. Why are you looking for an N/A, you know you want a TT. Insurance are the same N/A TT it don`t matter.

cheerz, mickey

Whole electric aerial unit cost me less than £50 from AndyZ in the traders section last year, fitting is DIY and pretty simple :) Could be the wiring to it though.

Cheers Dave for the free advertising- I gotta sell that asap to help pay for those wheels that are turning up on Sat ;)

I bought an NA which has turned out to have a similar fault with the aircon. Was so impressed with the condition of the rest of the car I didn't notice the missing belt! Anyway, have just had a second hand compressor fitted and hoping to get it gassed up at the weekend. Got the compressor at a nice price from a member of this forum breaking his car, cheap enough to fit as I was having major work done anyway.

On the whole I would say that looks like a good price if your are happy with the service history. My biggest expense has been a timing belt kit from the states and getting it fitted along with a full service. Has yours had a timing belt service done?

As for the NA/TT debate, I've loved both my NAs. Sometimes wish I had a bit more power but on the whole I'm happy enough with the performance and more than happy with the looks of mine :)

David

Look in the for sale section. DixonJohn is selling his NA.
