When you turn the engine on, does the needle just sit right in the middle, or is it always hard to the left?

If it's stuck in the middle, the first thing to check it whether the hose going to the unit is loose or disconnected. Looking into the open engine bay, the unit is on the driver's side edge, quite far back towards the windscreen. It's a black box probably around matchbox size. The pipe that goes into the *underside* of this unit is for the boost gauge. Check that a pipe exists and is OK.

Thanks guys.

Gauge is always to the left, so something must be disconnected. Will have a quick gander in me lunch break :mac1:

If its to the left then its NOT the sender! If the sender wasn't connected then the needle would sit right in the middle ;) Sounds like more of a connection problem to me - tried banging the top of the dash cluster? LOL

Loose connection on the unit

New to all this so now need to interpret it.

Gauge goes from -7 to +7 mmhg

Floored it on the way back and gauge read +6. Is that a good sign that turbos are in good nick?

Thanks to the creators of engine by numbers- its a little gem
