Wondered if you know but apparently Warranty Holdings went bust in Feb! I went to claim this morning and was greeted with the news. My garage are now arguing the toss on my behalf as I still have a few months left to run on mine. No contact or anything to let me know! :xxx:

Does anyone know of any aftermarket DECENT warranties that we can pay to have applied to our cars??

Bummer ! :xxx:

Interesting to see if another warranty company starts up with a similar name !

Just hads a look and my policy and it states that Warantee holdings are only an agent of NIG for these policies. Would thos mean that I'm still covered?

I wasne aware you could get aftermarket warranties for cars, i've thought about this for years, never knew they existed! Can anyone point me in the direction of a reputable company?

At the minute, Warranty Holdings are only in administration. They haven't yet gone bust. However, whether any claims will be met is yet to be seen. I posted a thread on this back in Feb as a warning to others too. Jeff at z world replied, saying he had several claims which WHA had already authorised where the money was owed to him as a repairer, but he was still chasing the money and may never see it.......

The problem IIRC was that the insurers behind WHA pulled out of the warranty business. But as will all insurance I believe someone has to step in and take over provision of cover.

Mike Woolley BTW (trading as Private Car Warranties), supplied my warranty last June for 15 months (at £375 IIRC) with..........Warranty Holdings :( You need to check who he is using now before you part with your cash.

Still, on the upside I have made almost 3 times that back with a couple of successful claims :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Cheers guys will hollar and see what comes up.

My garage said they had completed work from authorised claims but not received payment on a number of jobs from them.

It is peice of mind when you can claim up to £1000 a time bearing in mind a tubs jobs could be staring you at £1500 or thereabouts! Thats my policy and ive not had problems in the past... we shall have to see what comes of this claim. Luckily its not for a lot so at worse I'll be a couple of hundred quid out of pocket.

Hi all

I've just called WHA and they told me the administrators had re-arranged cover with another insurance company so existing policy holders have nothing to worry about......

I'll believe that if I have to claim again

As for your claim limit, FairladyZ, it doesn't cost much more to have "value of the car" limits per claim. Mine was just that. ;)
