How much do you chaps pay for servicing? I was quoted around £300 by our nissan dealer here for a full service including all the parts etc. I can get it done cheaper of course using my local mechanics, but i would like a few "nissan" services to get the stamp in the book etc, i feel it will better when i come to sell...unless you guys are going to tell me it means *****cks all, getting the dealer stamp?

IMO Nissan service history now means FA.....after all most of our cars are 10 years old+

As long as it's serviced at correct intervals by someone who knows what they are doing I would not be put off.

My Zed had full Nissan history when I bought it last year, but do I go there now?......... No fekking way!!

My local garage does a better job for half the labour cost and uses Nissan parts. He stamps the book and my warranty company are happy too :)

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

I always service my cars myself now, after dodgy garages not doing what they say,its happened to me quite a few times, got my old gto tt serviced and they only replaced 3 plugs, had an oil change once on a car, well it wasnt an oil change,it was a wipe of the oil filter, they done a good job of that though...

is simple to change oil/plugs/filters etc etc,and you get a nice feeling driving it afterwards knowing you done it :) .

Nissan will charge you loads and most likely do a shoddy job or worse **** up your car!! keep well clear!

A Zed specialist will charge about £500 to £600 for a full 60K service plus cam belt. (Nissan would be about £1200)

Other services are pretty much lubrication and checking, so if Nissan are quoting you £300, for your money you'll get new oil, filter & air filter worth about £50!! and a quick (and probably uneducated) check over (by the apprentice who's never seen a Zed!)

Paul

Do the basic stuff yourself mate. Easy to do and if you don't fancy the cambelt (which I wouldn't) get a specialist to do it. I wouldn't trust a local garage to do mine.

Martyn is the chap you want to talk to he helped convert my na convertible to twin turbo and is now an old hand when it comes to sorting out zeds, his number is 0797 937 5230, text him and he will reply to you as he usually has he head under a Zed!
