After fitting a HKS EVC 3 (Thanks again John), Im wondering whether I can run a little more boost. Before I fitted my boost guage sat at 14-15psi with boost jets. The HKS EVC3 in LOW mode sets a max of 1 bar but this does not take my boost guage above 10psi.

I appreciate my guage may not be calibrated if before It was running and showing 15psi then can I push my boost up into the HIGH on the EVC and try and get the same without any problems?

Does anyone PLEASE have a instruction manual for this controller or can tell me what settings they are running?

MAny many MANY thanks

I have this controller in mine, dont know how it was set up or when because it came with the car from japan. If i run it at 1bar its unbelivably fast - but it wont let you go over this. but you can go over this in SBC mode (boost scramble mode) but mine does detonate at anything above 1bar!!! - so beware. I have also had an ecu mod to remap the fueling i guess..

Ive had a few problems with mine lately, where is i set it to say 0.6bar - it will still rise to nearly 1bar on the controller! also the boost isnt constant at all! - if i have my foot down in 3rd gear its like its really surging the boost levels (or like your putting your foot on and off the accelerator)

Dont know what this is but it could be blocked air filters in the boost lines???

Anyway

Cheers Lymon but thats an installation manual I already have, is there a user or other manual made for setting it up?

Cheers

Jay - I'm not sure if your just saying that the stock boost guage is pants (which is true). You should be able to get to about 1.2 bar on stock tubs, but I guess you may get some detonation (some people are luckier than others it seems!).

Its not a stock guage mate, aftermarket one was reading at 14.5 psi

No Det

When I went into manual boost and set it it went up to about 18psi and I got Det

I just wanna get back to 14.5 psi.

More likely the opposite, so to speak, a vacuum leak!

dont think a vac leak as Mr JD replaced all vacuum pipes and we biined the EGR, AIV and PVPR or whatever its called.

so still searching for that elusive answer.

Jay, once I get back from hols, we can get my calibrated gauge on it, and see if it's the gauge of the EVC that's reading properly.
