As this forum is for the members and owners of 300 Zd's, why can we have a say as to just what is deemed unacceptable and more importantly who should be the moderators!!!! :nono:

Too many of the moderators are playing god!!

It's time for a change!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I suppose this thread will be NUKED without explanation too??

Could not agree more.

i know im not a paid up member but i have to second this. Im an admin on 2 forums and at times it does get difficult. Topics like this dont help things but if you feel it needs to be discussed then so be it.

Just me twopennies wortha.

I wasn't the one who nuked it - in fact I was in the process of answering when it was nuked. :D

Suffice to say, Jeff didn't pay his subscription fees. This is the reason he is no longer in the Trader's section.

We took the action we did based on the evidence that we had at the time. If Jeff had remained a Trader, things might have worked out differently, but I'm sure you'll all agree that it's unfair for one Trader not to pay when all the others have.

There will always be people who rate Jeff's work - fair play and that's your opinion

There will always be people who hate Jeff's work - fair play and that's your opinion

There will always be people who side with the most vocal - fair play, even if I don't understand why.

The situation with Z.edworld has caused this forum more conflict that anything else put together but the upshot of it is this :

If you have used and are OK with Jeff's work, carry on using him

If you have used and are NOT OK with Jeff's work, use someone else

Jeff did not pay his subscription fee and no longer wishes to trade on this forum.

Ajay, quit it with the explanations will you? There really is no need. I stuck up for the right of forum members to have their say last week but there are some who seem to be out to upset the fragile "happiness" we have at present. Jeff has no hard feelings, the mods have no hard feelings (I assume) and with this in mind why does it all have to come down to this one issue.

I agree with a previous reply completely: If anyone has a prob with the moderation on site, they could at least question the moderation in a private matter before starting to lay minefields.

I have not always been a fan of the way this forum is run but right now there is a hell of a lot of work going in....we can all see it surely. The people putting in this hard work deserve the right to be quizzed privately before any issue relating to their conduct gets posted publicly IMHO.

Just getting me coat and wandering out.....it is my birthday today you know :hyper:

well actually there is more than one issue, there are over 10 complaints relating to the conduct of jeff and ******** whilst he was a trader on this forum,

Haven't we all had enough of this!!!!!!!!! But it's about time I gave my opinion

In my view, if a post does not have any possible legal implications then it should not be removed or altered in any way by the moderators. Despite Tony Blair and Co, Britain is still a free state where we all have a right not to be censored!

Futhermore, a trader not renewing his subscription should not have any references to them filtered out by the swear filter, or whatever. Unless any references to any unsubscibed business are also filtered out my the moderators, thus being impartial and fair to all. This wouldn't eaxactly help us, would it, if recommendations to local body shops, etc were prevented because they were not approved traders.

And please, please stop this vendetta against Jeff. It has reached the stage of becoming purile. He may or may not have made a mistake checking subcontractor work, but another well repected company my the membership community here, did the following to my Zed

i) When fixing a cyclinder head problem. Removed the turbo coolant lines. Maybe technically OK, but I did not ask for it.

ii) Disabled the turbo boost modifations made by a well repected performance garage that I use. There can't have been any good reason because they simply didn't tell me about it.

iii) When fitting a fibreglass rear spoiler, repainted the tailgate with the crappiest paint job that I have ever seen. it started cracking and peeling after less than 6 months

BUT, I have no intention of starting a vendetta here.

no you are wrong, traders are added to the swear filter when they personally trade without a trade membership, as a result their recomendations are filtered out, that is their fault, it is not fair to PAYING traders to have business stolen by NON PAYING traders

and we are not a free state, we are run by the EU, britain has no right to free speech, we only have a right under the EU humans rights act.

and there is no vendetta against jefftt, the only time its brought up is when the pro jeff camp start ranting, we spoke to the people who were "anti" jeff and they have pretty much been quiet until these threads roar up.

oooooooooh your in trouble now

lmfao :D :D :D

come on posidrive spit it out.. name and shame!

I'd be interested to know who these were as well...........

Matty.

I'll give you a clue. Got a name for being very very very slow. My mouth is now zipped :x:

Looks like war is on the way. if I get good service from somebody I expect to bloody well say where I got it. And if for example a banned trader who happens to be quite legitimatly browsing our forum recommends for example checking for vacuum leaks or whatever, I expect to see that recommendation as long as they don't suggest that they should sort it out/give a price. Fair enough deleting the post if they do, but blankt deletion is just not on.

there is no blanket deletion, just filtration of a trader who was abusing the system,

not our fault, im sorry but all traders are treated the same, if they arnt paid up and they advertise they get filtered,

do you not understand that?

lol for comedy value alone this thread rates as one of the best ive ever read

FFS - some like Jeff, some don't, he was here a while and now he isn't.

The end

Hmm I wonder how that "policy" came about...

it came into effect when pambos wsa banned for 7 days for attempting to trade,

WARNING THERE MAYBE NO POINT TO THIS POST

I have just done a search on threads being locked...... (yes im that bored :D )

I would like to say there is no way I would volunteer to be a moderator on this board. Dont get me wrong, for the majority of the time this place is sound with good advice and friendly banter, but there is also something weird that i have never seen on any other forums that I visit (I guess it's something to do with it being a fairly close knit club..I dunno?) and that is the reoccuring theme of threads being locked for whatever reason and then you get a load of fuss about said thread being locked etc. (I think i'll call it the Groundhog day effect :D or maybe it's just a big fluffing glitch in the matrix )

I can't see any good to come out of this. Yes i do agree that everyone has a right to there opinion, but to rehash the same old arguments isnt going to help anyone let alone the club. The only real bit of advice (which has been said countless times before) i have to say is if you have a problem with a post/thread being locked/deleted then any discussion/arguments should be kept private, between you and the mod and if you have a problem with the mod, mail one of the others.

Thanks for listening :D

Pete

I have never had any work done by geoff but I have never seen anyone who does a perfect job every time and you will allways have someone who dosent like your work. I have allways been told if you cant say something good about someone say nothing - saying nothing can speak a thousand words and doesnt start a war. As for moderators they have a very tough job and walk a fine line between free speach and dictatorship where most of their actions can be seen as either depending on whether you agree with them or not.

Or in otherwords quit your moaning, have a :duffer: and did someone say this forum was about the 300zx :)

Ajay, quit it with the explanations will you? There really is no need.

When people stop bringing up the same topic, the explanations will cease. :)

FFS, at the end of the day its up to the moderators to decide what gets moderated!! simple really.

would you spend the last half of a football match arguing with the ref if you thought he was wrong??

Yay! the old forum returns, lots of slagging off and back stabbing, just like the good old days :D

I think Tooley said it best:

'lol for comedy value alone this thread rates as one of the best ive ever read'

At the end of the day, if you don't like they way things are run here, go someplace else!

FFS - this is just getting fooking stupid now.

Look, the sun is shining, its a lovely day out there - there is more to life than this bitching.

Like it or not the mods do what they think best. Its all any of us can ask from them.

Everyone get down the pub - :duffer: are on me!

FFS - this is just getting fooking stupid now.

Yeah, but it's funny too :D
