I did 140 the other day but bottled out for fear of losing my licence (I live in North Wales!). The car felt like it would have carried on to 160mph+.

I'm running 14psi boost which helps a little:cool:

What's the fastest you've been in your cars?

i got up to 150 ish on the m1 this weekend, and did the same mate back of as the car felt a bit light on the front and a bend was coming up very fast.

at least the cossie and scooby were long gone buy then, just specs in the mirror lol

i love my zed.

160 on the way back from the Solihull meet with SMW1 following.

Very interesting how the lane becomes very narrow at that pace, but the Z had plenty left in her.

160 as well, Z was still pulling, but I ran out of bottle

170 - bottle went at that point lol

about 175ish only the once last year,3 in morning,i think over 150 the spedos are a bit out so 175 is 160-165,is this right ?

150 down the M4 two weeks ago, felt fine still pulling Audi TT tried to have a go..........rude not to i guess!!!!

I do want to know how fast i can really go so if anyone finds a long straight road (about 5 miles should do the trick) let me know!!!

By the way completly standard apart from Apexi and Mongoose..

297km/h (~185mph) flat out on a German autobahn.

speed was according a GPS unit.. so pretty accurate :)

The car still felt very stable at that speed

165 on Motorway outside swansea (Just had it delimitted would have been a shame not to try it out once) that was back in 2001. SWB TT series 3. Series 3 spoiler may help at those speeds. She felt very solid

70 MPh but i did do it in 5.9 seconds ........on a private road i have taken it up to 160

indicated but my arse collapsed , things like roundabouts and tractors pulling out of side roads come up on you pretty quick at those speeds

Fekkin hell

I've had my ZX to 160, but the speed limiter interupted progress  The car felt rock steady and was still pulling like a train

I have driven an HKS prepped Poopra at 300kmh ("stack" instrument pannel, not stock one - no idea of accuracy though) and a Lister Jag at an indicated 180mph.......

Not on public roads, of course

Richard

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Got up to 60 then a bloody tree got in the way.

Take it your motor is highly modded, to reach that speed. Iam guesing around 500bhp.

Once you reach the magic "No" of car vs drag (areodynamics). You will need to add I rekon 100bhp per 10mph or thereabouts. Out of interest what upgrades have you done

about 171 mph according to speedo and felt that some was left but ran out of road

A limited 155, but now it's chipped i'm looking to do better :D

I ran out of road and bottle just short of 160 on the clock, so I guess this is fairly standard.

65mph, It feels like if i go faster that my blue rinse is going to be blown out

I think he meant going FORWARDS Mike!!! LOL.

165 for me, ran out of road. Still felt very stable and like there was quite a bit left. I would love to max her out if the conditions were right. Wouldn't fancy anything going wrong at those kinda speeds though!

Yes, car was modded at the time, but not that heavily..360'ish

larger IC's, Nismo 555cc injectors, full exhaust, Apexi intake, JWT chip, Blitz boostcontroller, UD pulley and some other bits.

Was running 1.2-1.3 bar on stock turbos at the time.

152 on my GPS, speedo was at nearly 160!!!!

Your roads are great for top speed runs Eric. Adrie would frequently have me trying to keep up with him past 150mph....

Last run I tried was 168mph and that was with a knackered #5 JE piston :D I think throttle position showed at 71% on my avc-r.....so more to go

Had to stop because we were monitoring water & oil temperature and the engine burnt off 1litre of oil in 19miles!
