In 1st 2nd and 3rd gear i can get full power down

in 4th or 5th gear when i boost my engine note and revs rise quickly but car does not go faster, the revs then drop down to an acceptable value for the speed.

is this my clutch showing signs of wear?

Sounds like it.

The best was to find out drive 30-40 in 5th and then floor it. You obviously have to find a road where you are able to do this.

yup, sounds like the clutch is on its way out. you may get a little more life by adjusting at the clutch pedal, there is an adjuster where it goes into the servo.

worth a try short term, but thats all it will be :(

look here

Yet another clutch on it's way out:( sounds like you need the manual to auto conversion Mike:D;)

this does nothing, the car just struggles, already tried this, I think its where my builds quite quickly on my car that causes the problems... and the age of the clutch

anyone know where to get a JWT clutch? or is smithy gonna cut me a deal :D?

So I presume you still have the original auto box in your car then?

Just went for an ACT racing spec one myself, but I'm still waiting for it to arrive from the US!

and 115000 miles isn't bad for one clutch (specially if you drive the car like you're supposed to!)

Sounds very like mine at the minute, but I have noticed it more in 3rd and 4th. Revs rise a bit quicker than normal when really flooring it but speed doesn't, then the revs seem to hang a bit before normality returns. Doesn't always do it, but then my engine is showing it's age a bit so I doubt its delivering full torque.

I have a nice RPS sport sitting in my living room which will be going on in a week or so with a new(er) engine.

No answer. Hmmm maybe his autobox isnt the same one which came with the car ;)
