the HKS electronic valve control

has a boost level button

3 big buttons and one dial which goes from min to max

the loom behind it was disconnected when i looked

should it be connected to the ECU

dont know how to work the turbo timer

Looks like you have an HKS EVC 1 boost controller. There are two main parts to the system - the controller which you have seen and a control valve unit which should be plumbed into the turbo wastegate actuators.

This is what the two main bits looks like:

and here is the HKS manual for the EVC 1:

This is an old model from HKS.

should this be connected to that?

Any chance you can make the picture bigger. Can't quite make it out.

yes it should. The EVC will allow you to increase pressure (boost). Depending on how you have it set up it will probably take readings from the vacuum pipes.

ummm...... interesting. It certainly looks like a boost solenoid although perhaps a little on the small side. However, it looks nothing like mine and I also have an EVC I. Attatched is a picture of the boost solenoid under my bonnet.

The link below that Andrew posted gives instructions on what pipe goes where.

As for the wires that come out of the head unit in your glove box, they chould connect to a wiring loom coming from the boost control solenoid under the bonnet.
