Just killed my mint 94uk Z. This is a bad day for me but at least no one was hurt. Lost it on a wet muddy bend and went sideways on into a tree, spun 180 degrees and came to a stop, then the car started smoking. This is the first time I have stared death in the face. I got out and walked away without a scratch (that would not have been the same for someone in the passenger seat had they have been there). I have some pics after the recovery so that you can see how well these cars stand up to an impact but I can't post them, so if some one wants to post them for me I will mail them to you.

Ok so I am once again looking for a Z if any one is selling.

Cheers........Ady (slighty battered and very bruised ego)

Hi Ady - sorry to hear of your aweful crash - looks bad the pics. But thank God your ok.

If you are looking for an new Zed - mine's going up for sale soon. I've been told to price it around £7000, it is in great condition with alot of mods etc.

Best of luck, Ady.

Geoff.

I have always admired your car from the pics Geoff, even though I have made it quite clear what I am looking for in the wanted section I would never look a gift horse in the mouth and would certainly not disregard your car as a possibility if I can not find exactly what I am looking for. Please keep me up to date so I can keep my options open.

Cheers

Ady

Feck me... glad you're OK! Looks nasty... not the usual backwards style either!

Good God mate you don't do things by half do you ? I'm just glad for you that you weren't driving a left hand drive vehicle or didn't have your missus or another passenger onboard, doesn't bear thinking about does it ? Thank God someone up above was looking over ya mate.

Just as I predicted, I have had the insurance offer today and they offered me 5k minus £400 excess. I looked at a uk Z over the weekend and it was £5400 it would have cost me a grand to get it up to somewhere near the condition of mine, and that wasn't taking into account the condition of the leather seats, or the mismatch of paint on some panels.

so it looks like I have a fight on my hands unless I can find another like mine for 5k (I accept I have to right off the excess). I would never have let it go for that, well unless I had run out of beer money of course.

So just to make you aware that you only get book price value........oh and that was top book price minus £400 due to the milage on top book price being 90,000 and mine was at 104,000 if that makes sense

I asked about keeping the car and that is an absolute NO due to latest legislation.

I will keep you posted on this one.

Cheers

Ady

That's b0llocks Ady! Hit back at the ins company straight away. If necessary show them ads of similar vehicles. This one is a 93 UK and is for sale for almost £9000.

I've had mine covered with agreed value of £9000 on my classic policy and it's not had major money spent on it - just a well looked after UK car. The insurance company (Carole Nash) agreed to it in writing almost straight away on receipt of current photographs..

Get on it mate and stuff the b*stards!

Good luck

Steve :)

Hi Steve

Thanks for the quick response I always knew I would have a fight on my hands as I have put in previous postings about this. I have printed off the Z that is for sale and it is actually still for sale on autotrader I have also read the link about the admiral case, I suppose the guy is only doing his job and at least he offered top book as I was advised it was unlikly he would offer that by a third party, but the facts are, like I said previously, I am not gonna get one in the same condition that mine was prior to it being written off for 5k. I am not one to throw the towel in and i will wait for the formal offer and hit back with everything I have got. The thing that these companys must bear in mind is that if one of these cars has new tyres and new brake pads all round for insatance and an equvilent replacement hasn't then that can be a difference of 600 quid minimum before you look at anything else. I hope we can all learn from this even if it is at my misfortune and next time I will take on board what you said about an agreed value for a complete loss.

Again thanks for the suport

Cheers

Ady
