Just killed my mint 94uk Z. This is a bad day for me but at least no one was hurt. Lost it on a wet muddy bend and went sideways on into a tree, spun 180 degrees and came to a stop, then the car started smoking. This is the first time I have stared death in the face. I got out and walked away without a scratch (that would not have been the same for someone in the passenger seat had they have been there). I have some pics after the recovery so that you can see how well these cars stand up to an impact but I can't post them, so if some one wants to post them for me I will mail them to you.

Ok so I am once again looking for a Z if any one is selling.

Cheers........Ady (slighty battered and very bruised ego)

Glad no one was hurt and you should get more than £5000 for your car unless you put that as an agreed value.

Does any one know if these cars are strong? It looks like that car just folded in half on the passenger side.

How fast where you going ady? Not insinuating you where speeding, I'm just wondering what speed collision caused that much damage. :(

Not sure of the speed but you have to bear in mind that it was a very mature oak tree that had no intentions of being moved.

Ady

sorry for your loss btw :(,

anyone who says these are just cars just doesn't know how much love goes into them

I have seen trucks stopped by trees.

Hey this is no laughing matter!........ well ok I am actually laughing my head off, Thanks to alex for putting up the pics and cheers for the support I have to say Nismo that was my emediate reaction when charles suggested me buying his car and wants someone that would look after it. In my defence I never thrashed it and I replaced bits that weren't even broken (well until now) and "never stopped cleaning the bloody thing" quote from Mrs Ady, well at least she will get a bit more quality time from me now, although I guess I will be dragging my chin on the floor for a while. Just looked in class's guide and I will be lucky to get 5000 from the insurance, anyone tell me where the hell I am gonna get another stock 94 uk Z in mint condition from for £5000?

It took me months to find this one and just over 12 months to kill it (obviously not intentionaly) I paid £6600 for it then and i thought it was a bargain at that.

I will try the tatic that I don't want a cheque for any amount just another car the same as I don't think I will ever get another like it.

Cheers

I was refering to I'd choose living over a 300 any day of the week. Not that they are just cars.

That whats you tell insurance company if they only offer you £5000 You point out the mint yellow motor on here (carn't remember the guys name) You tell them thats the quality of yours and you want them to go out and buy one for you of that quality. Refuse two or three times and they'll offer you that exact motor and its sorted and mint. ;)

Oh ya sorry about your car, but every cloud has a Silver linning. You have to grasp every opertunaty to improve. Hust hang in there and be determind and you'll win. On the note of opertunaty What brakes you got on that car.

WHAT!! WHAT!!

A friend of mine got an evaulation for his car when it was written off. The insurance company offered XXXX amount but it was worth more than that. A letter was sent from the official club saying they would estimate its vaule at XXXX. He didnt get the full amount which the club said, but it was close to it and a lot more than their first offer.

Maybe we could offer a service like this when become officially official, if you know what I mean.

I allready suggested a car grading and valuation. A friend of mine got his bike written off and he just kept insisting that the insurance company go and get him the same bike, same year, same milage and condition. Every time he wrote to them he would point of the bike he wanted which was for sale a twice the offer value. In the end they told him to go pick the bike up.

The insurance company cannot write your car off unless you agree on the value and/or except their offer. So don't let the salvage company touch it untill you've got what you want. Remember it's your car not the insurance companies. Read your pollicy. Most state your cover value of up to £50,000 personal loss or injury. (while the car is wrecked your at loss) You can insist they rebuild your car. The cost of that would be shame full so they should give in. You just got to pick the car of your choice and tuff it out.

P.S.

Be prapared for it to take anything up to six months unless they are having to provide you with a lone car until your car is repared or settle ment agreed. Thats costing them money so they'll settle quicker.

Glad your ok Ady,very lucky mate by the looks of it ,hope you find another to love n cheerish as much, take it easy bud.

Tony

Unlucky mate :( Another late UK model bites the dust... Glad you're ok though :)

Ady

what a bitch glad to hear your ok

one lesson has come out of this never sit the the passenger seat ,let the wife ;)

once again thanks for the support and advice, got to say I feel like I spent the night on a waltzer as I am a little bruised. Had a good wake on Fri night and pi**ed myself when my sister in law said "you'll be stiff in the morning" to which I replied "i'll let my wife be the judge of that". Time to ask a favour from you guys as I have posted a thread in the wanted section for another Z so If you could have a quick look and let me know if you see anything I would be extreamely gratefull. I don't think I will be taking the car back and if not I will try and buy it and arrange for it to go to geoff at Z World. I will keep you posted on that one. It all depends on the insurance offer as I may need to raise extra cash from the bits.

well now off to borrow my sisters G reg mazda 323 hatch back woooooohoooo (bro in law wouldn't lend me his Jag and Mrs Ady won't let me near her KA).

Cheers

Ady
