Fixing kick on auto box 1st to 2nd?

How do I fix this kick?

In Hold my auto box is smooth, but when I go to A/T I get an uncomfortable kick when it changes to 2nd.

The other changes are smooth.

Is it possible to adjust an auto box?

Thanks

Mooch

thats because in hold the car is moving off in 2nd gear so you dont get the 1st to 2nd change

Fair enough, didn't know that.

But can I adjust the box for the 1st to 2nd change?

Have you done an auto gearbox diagnostic? Have a look in the buyers guide and there's a link to it in there.

IANAE (I am not an expert) or indeed an auto owner, but posts on here about this problem usually mention:

cooked oil (change it!)

or

Dodgy TPS - you need a multimeter to measure the resistances it gives and check it runs from ~0.4 volts to somewhere round 4 (seems to vary, but the important thing is it's consistent on your car so the ECU can learn)

Or even just clean the connectors on the TPS...
