uprated headlights

I am fitting some Phillips HID headlights. Have also taken out the headlight units with a view to either cleaning inside or going the 'bacofoil' route. I already have some chrome material so that is probably the way I'm going however, do I just re-chrome the existing shiny bits or some of the other stuff too. I intend to make a start tomorrow so any advice would be welcome.

"Re-chrome the existing shiny bits?"

DO you mean the inside of the bezels and the "Main Beam" filter?

obviously i don't know the technical terms for the various parts of a headlight, hence the phrase 'shiny bits'. Would have thought that was sufficient information, whats the technical term for 'nice and shiny'?

techincal term is "bling bling"

lol - well - you said that you were thinking about using some chrome material. Is this baco foil or something else? Usually, just the plastic insert is chromed. I have used the baco foil in the past a few times but the finish is never 100%.

If you are interested in getting your inserts vacuum Metalized(chromed), follow the link that is below my sig.

Alternatively, if you have any quiries with the baco foil, drop me an email to cos.theo@mailcity.com

I have some chrome material from 3M which sign makers use and is guaranteed for 10 years and heat shouldn't be a problem. I'll just clean em up first see how it looks but would definately consider getting them chromed but time is an issue. How long do you need them for Cos?

Well, I have to be honest with you, time is definately one of the down sides at the moment because there are a few people in the queue already. You are going to be looking at weeks rather than days.

What I would say is, try the Vinyl which is what I am assumingyou are using and see how you fair. The hardest part is the curved part of the inserts because the curve bends to many different angles and you have to be quite firm to get a good finish(insert your own joke here).

Once I have a spare set of chromed inserts, I will let you know and you can decide whether you are happy to go for them or stay with what you have.
