Must say it was your post that prompted this thread (didn't want to be accussed of Hijack, he he).

It does not seem to matter what fuel either, same for both regular and super unleaded!?.

Is it downhill from the garage ? ;)

lol, nope. Bar of Fruit and Nut for any usefull information, and supprsingly this does not include you Andy ;)

To be honest mt zed is very tempramental and goes through phases of being quick then slow. I have tried loads of things and it's not any better so I am just going to accept the fact. She still looks the same at the end of the day.

Don't know whether this will have anything to do with it but........

My uncle races a sierra cosworth and in order to maintain a solid feed of fuel he must always have at least 10 litres of petrol in his tank. When it falls below this amount the engine begins to get starved of fuel, due to lack of feed pressure, not much, but noticeable at 500bhp. He obviously has a non standard fuel pump.

So if your pump is on it's way out it may suffer a similar problem where it is not drawing at a constant pressure so therefore the more fuel in the tank, creating additional pressure, may produce the effect of a faster car. As you work through the tank, slowly the pressure is reducing therefore less fuel being introduced for combustion.

I'm sure that would have tell-tale signs elsewhere but............

funny you should mention this, mine seems a lot quicker after i have filled up the washer bottle :D

You are getting a lot of wheelspin from the enormous power and the full tank of fuel is giving you traction. Either that or it is as you say...

my car goes through phases of being fast and then predictable and thus slower. Sometimes when im not expecting it, I floor it and it suprises me like a ****ing rocket, other times when I am expecting it, it seems to be a lot slower, like im waiting for something to happen and it doesn't weird eh?

Also, I notice a big difference from air temp etc, some cold days its a weapon, hot days it seems distinctively average lol, temo if air and density etc, weird tho cause never the same when I want it to be, guess it cause im expecting it.

Could it be your cars gone into safety boost? turning the ignition off and off again will reset the ecu, and get you back on the proper maps, at least for a moment. Do an ECU diag...

HTH

Simon.

It's gotta be your putting your foot down a bit more becasue your not afraid of wasting petrol :D

Do you hear voices to BTW?

fill the car up with squirt from empty you loose a large amount of weight from the wallet . better power to weight ratio.
