Last night I went over a ramp at the usual required speed of 0.01mph to avoid hitting anything, but still grounded out behind the front wheel somewhere.

I now have smoke coming out and on closer inspection have a leak of blue/green coloured liquid. I asusme it's coolant, but could it be anythign else? It def leaks more when the engine's been running at high revs. Anyone know what I'm likely to have damaged?

To add to the leak and resulting smoke, I've lost two bolts out of a support nearer the back of the car, well at least I assume it's just a support!!!

Any advice or help would be appreciated as I dont want to drive home if it's not safe!

Cheers,

David

Did you check your Rad you may of damaged the cooler system.

Certainly sounds like a good candidate.

Speedramps come a very close second to Twatso cameras in my book of rants !

Send the repair bill to the council when it's sorted - you won't get anything out of it but at least it'll waste their time :xxx:

I've had a mate who's complained to the council about pot holes giving him a puncture and got the money for his tire. Right, out to jack the car up again and have a really good look (well as best you can with a car this low and the stnadard jack!!!).

Result !! :)

Go for it then mate - whack the claim in !

Hope it's summat cheap btw !

Possibly the botom rad hose - it is a saggy long rubber jobby that hangs down low on some cars just right to get nipped or torn. There is a bracket too. Maybe you broke it off. Look underneath and check this hose - you dont want to drive far if you loose all your coolant. It might tape up as a get you home with duct tape.

Yep, was the rad hose alright... thanks guys. Despite the engine nearly overheating, I've now patched the hose, re-filled the radiator and it's ok now (with the AA guy's help).

Right, now to try to order a new hose...

Thanks for the advice guys.

sorry had beer and that just tickled me

go for a smithys bottom stainless rad pipe, probably cheaper than the nissan rubber equivalent
