Just a thought - but can someone describe the process for getting a custom designed bit of bodywork made?

I know Luke and others are always bringing out new bits, but what can I do if I have an idea that no-one seems to have made yet?

What. do none of you have anything to say on this one?

What about you guys that have developed new parts in conjunction with the zed centre? You must know something!!!

What!

Just cos I said you had a girly laugh and would be good at drag!

Haven't got any figures for you but from conversations with Luke it takes him quite a few sales to recoup the design/mold/build cost.

You'd probably be better just taking the idea to him, as I did. He's in the position to do the job; with bodyshop facilities available, just about any previous design of kit etc and a good long-standing relationship with the molder.

He's also best placed to sell enough of the item to cover it's manufacture - established website and client-base etc with a good reputation for quality.

Can't see there being anything stopping you building a mock-up of what you want and taking it to a molders yourself if you want to though; although I don't think it'll be cheap :(

Thanks Konrad - I'll send some sketches to luke to see if he has anything close (or fancies doing a new model)
