Why should I keep my 300ZX over a Mitsubishi GTO TwinTurbo? (some CONSTRUCTIVE comments would be useful as well as the usual patriotic slanging for laughs !!)

Arnt we all? I found out why i wasnt getting much response... I was logged into 3KGT.com firstly which was the Yank version ha ha.

Sorry Zedders but the UK GTO forum is much more responsive than the yanks 3KGT one. Must admit though I am really impressed by the ZX site!

BTW Adam, the car looks rude mate.. I like!

I went to see cankers' (off the GTO forum) car last night - gonna be awesome when its put together, top bloke too.

 

I do like them - very supercar looking, and they look a lot easier to work on that zeds. Not been in one though ;)

Like I say Ive had both and I think the GTO pluses are the driving experience of a manual 4wd car, the looks and the easierness to work on than the Zed.

The Nissans plusses are again looks superb, very fast, for an auto its the best box Ive driven, the targas are wicked in the summer! Not as common a site on our roads as most cars. Great following of enthusiasts (as with both cars).

Incidentally I found the GTo much better on fuel, NOTHING has come near the MPG I get (or dont get more to the point!) from my ZX ha ha.

 

Lets be honest, both cars have one plus... the ability to wipe the smug grin of the faces of the expensive toy brigade in their porsches etc, for a fraction of the cost! And thats what its all about sometimes....

Just to clarify one minor and insignificant point. The gearbox/transfer box myth about thousands of quid is crap. It costs, $575 = £320ish for the parts and £230 ish in labour to fit them. The problem is relevent to all GTOs, whether 5 or 6 speed or auto and it's the output shaft from the gearbox to transfer box and the coupler within the transfer box, this is a dry joint and manufacturing build quality was crap, now updated by a company in the States, Kormex.

Do tell me more on this because this was my biggest worry. My friend bought a TT gto and the tranfer box went and he was left with a £1400 bill and had trouble finding parts.

£1500 bills are cheap on a 300 are'nt they?

Both cars are cheap to buy... NOT so cheap to run. OK a new turn on the subject.... CHEAPEST MOD for the most gains to both cars???

I know the GTO Mod (for free) is removing the boost solenoid grommet and aparantly this can free up to about 20 horses.

Whats the cheapest mod for the most gains to the ZED?????
